Salim is an Indian Tamil action thriller film directed by N V Nirmal Kumar, who was an associate to Bharathi Raja. It stars Vijay Antony and Aksha Pardasany in the lead roles. Produced by Studio 9, Sri Green Productions and Vijay Antony Film Corporation, the film is named after the character Salim that Vijay Antony enacted in his debut movie Naan (2012).

Critics have given decent reviews for Vijay Antony's "Salim" and have termed it as an average fare.
Directed by NV Nirmal Kumar, "Salim" also has Aksha Pardasany, Arul Dass and Manohar in supporting roles. The film has music by Vijay and is produced by Studio 9, Vijay and Sri Green.
Salim (Vijay Antony), a professional doctor, has good values and respects others. He follows the principle of non-violence and does good deeds. However, Salim leads a lonely life and, to put an end to it, he decides to get married. He gets engaged to Nisha (Aksha), a modern girl who is eccentric and impatient. Nisha calls off their wedding, citing that Salim is old-fashioned.
Salim also loses his job as he was working against the company rules and was treating patients on humanitarian grounds, considering their financial background. Finally, Salim decides to break the rules and transforms into a person, who brings justice to the wrong doings.
Critics have stated that the first half of "Salim" is sluggish, while the second half is interesting.

"Director NV Nirmal Kumar's screenplay has just managed to justify the anger of Salim, but one might get the feeling that Vijay Antony could have shown little more emotions to project the frustrated individual," according to Behindwoods Review Board.
"Vijay Antony has seasoned a lot more in 'Salim' than his debut. Salim has dual character through the flow of the movie - he is unbelievably patient in the first half, while extremely smart and intense in the latter half. His transformation is too good to be true and had been carried out convincingly well," according to Indiaglitz.
"Aksha's role as Nisha is very well conceived and translated as a self centred woman, least understanding of reality, living only in fantasies of her own. Though there are not many particularly action packed sequences in the film, it still works perfectly for a fairly gripping thriller," the website stated.
"Salim is a film where one half is completely terrible whereas as the other half is quite interesting, especially for the kidnapping episodes and for portraying cruelty against women in the film," Rajasekar S of Cinemalead.
