First things first, a 2-minute silence for the ₹200 spent at the ticket window.
With a plot thinner than a size-zero waist, a narrative as fractured as broken vase, and acting as dismal as out-of-work actors, "Action Jackson" is what you'd recommend to that sly friend from school, who made you believe that he/she wasn't prepared for a test but would eventually clear it with the highest score.
Vishy (Ajay Devgn), a goon with a good heart, beats up people and tries underthings on at retail stores. Which brings to the question: What if it doesn't fit him well and he decides to not to purchase it? Best wishes to the man in line.
Khushi (Sonakshi Sinha), a clumsy girl, chases Vishy only to watch him naked. She strongly believes a look at his equipment will alter her luck. So, if this isn't enough to wrench one's gut, what is?
Marina (Manasvi Mamgai), a nut case of a woman and a female version of Salman Khan never missing an opportunity to go shirtless.
Yami Gautam and Kunal Roy Kapoor's performances -- only add to the run-time and not storyline -- are lost in the chaos stirred up by the film's central characters.
The script, if there were any, could've been analysed but what's been delivered is nothing but a distasteful pastiche of Prabhu Deva's directorials. It's almost like take handful of cringe-worthy dialogues of "Wanted" (2009), add to it generous amount of quirk from "Rowdy Rathore" (2012), top it off with some bone-breaking "R...Rajkumar" (2013) dance moves – and there, the mindless entertainer is served.
Himesh Reshammiya, who was entrusted with the job of creating foot-tapping numbers for "AJ", was either drugged while working at it or he desperately wanted the tunes of his debut film "Xpose" to sound like a Mozart classic after listening to "Tujhse Milne Ka Keeda Andar Hai".
In a nutshell, "AJ" is a bad, bad dream. And it does stand true to its oft repeated dialogue - 'Na commitment, na appointment, only punishment.' The mindless action comes without an 'appointment' and only gives you truck loads of 'punishment'.
