* This movie is considering as a high voltage action entertainer, developed under the banner of Vishal Film Factory. The movie seems to be full of Action, Drama and Romance.
* The film is a “triangular action story” which starts in Coimbatore and comes to an end in a thrilling way in Patna. It is an action-triangle where the Hero has to handle two different problems separately. The story mainly focuses a National issue and the Director has laced it with romance. This is basically in Tamil version. Whether, the film-makers have shown the nativity and relevance of Telugu region in the movie is not yet known.
* The film features Vishal and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles, apart from Satyaraj, Radhika, Abhinaya and Manobala in other crucial roles.
* Gorgeous Glamour Doll Shruthi Hassan is playing the lead role as the Heroine in this film.
* Actress Kausalya is making a comeback with the film starring alongside a bevy of other supporting actresses.
* Actress and playback singer, Andrea Jeremiah of Anglo-Indian origin will be shaking her leg Vishal in the item number of this high-octane action entertainer.
The dance of Vishal and Andrea in this special number is going to be a feast to the audience.
* Bhojpuri actor Awadhesh Mishra was selected to play the role of an international don in the movie, which marks his debut in Kollywood Industry.
* Pooja is the latest combo of Hero Vishal and Director Hari after a long time. Their previous venture Thaamirabharani in 2007, was a huge success at the Box-office.
* The soundtrack was composed by Music sensation Yuvan Shankar Raja. He collaborated again with Hari after a huge gap of seven years.
* The album consists of six tracks which starts off with the song Devatha, a foot tapping melody which starts and end with melodious whistle and guitar notes. Yuvan strikes big with a massy number, Soda Bottle. On the whole, Yuvan Raja delivered a fair album of decent tracks with peppy tunes.
* The track is used to build up Vishal’s image in the movie. The vocals are strong with full energy and will be a treat to Vishal’s fans.
* Na. Muthukumar had written the lyrics for all the songs, which contain high flavour of classicism.
* The Audio Rights were purchased by Vishal’s newly launched music company, V Music.
* The Cinematography and Editing are handled by Priyan and V T.Vijayan respectively.
* Pooja is releasing in 500 Theaters in Telugu Region along with the Tamil version. Its a type of record release, because releasing a Tamil to Telugu dubbed movie in a such a huge theaters is a rare situation.
* An interesting feature in the movie is that the Youth, Arts and Culture Minister of Bihar, Vinay Bihari was selected to play the role of a District Collector in the film’s climatic portions.
* The climax is said to have few risky stunts. Both Vishal and Shruti carried out the risky stunts and fights by themselves.
* The film unit is expecting that the movie will surely become a success in the Telugu region.
* Some of Vishal’s films like ‘Yamudu’ and ‘Singam’ were received well by the Telugu audiences. Now he is back with yet another action entertainer “Pooja”.
Casting:
Early reports in December had suggested that Shruti Haasan would be signed on to play the film's heroine, though she only confirmed her participation in March 2014. Sathyaraj and Soori were added to the cast to play supporting roles, while actress Kausalya was announced to be making a comeback with the film starring alongside a bevy of other supporting actresses. The team approached Rekha to play Vishal's mother in the film, but her unavailability meant that the team later cast Radhika Sarathkumar. Prathap Pothen and Janaki Sabesh were also selected to play the parents of Shruti Haasan's character. Andrea Jeremiah was selected to dance in a special number, a folk song, with Vishal.
Music:
The Music was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, collaborating with Hari again after seven years. The album consists of six songs and Na. Muthukumar had written the lyrics for all songs. The audio rights were purchased by Vishal's newly launched music company, V Music.
- About the movie: The movie is an action entertainer with all the mass elements. The director of the movie called it a “triangular action story” which starts in Coimbatore and ends in Patna.
