Gopichand's "Loukyam" has emerged as a super hit film at the worldwide box office.

"Loukyam," which hit the screens on 26 September, received good response from the critics as well as from the audience. The comedy entertainer took good openings and positive word of mouth seems to have helped the film's business to pick up despite facing competition from Mahesh Babu's "Aagadu" and Ravi Teja's "Power".

The Gopichand starrer has raked in ₹14.98 crore in 17 days at the AP/Nizam box office. The film's total worldwide collections will be approximately ₹17.55 crore share, reported Andhraboxoffice.

Check below the area-wise break up of "Loukyam" collections:

Nizam: ₹5.85 crore, Ceeded: ₹2.45 crore, Vizag: ₹1.80 crore, East: ₹1 crore, West: ₹0.80 crore, Krishna: ₹1.07 crore, Guntur: ₹1.50 crore and Nellore: ₹0.51 crore.

AP/Nizam collections: 14.98 crore

Karnataka: ₹1.62 crore, Rest of India: ₹0.22 crore and Overseas: ₹0.73 crore

Worldwide 17-day Collections: Approximately ₹17.55 crore

"Loukyam" has failed to beat the 17-day collections of "Power", which had earned ₹23.35 crore share at the worldwide box office. However, the comedy drama has turned out to be a hit and has become a profit venture for its producers.

The success of "Loukyam" has brought relief for Gopichand who was going through a lean phase with some of his past releases failing to set the cash registers ringing.

The actor, who was usually seen in action-oriented films, attempted comedy for the first time in "Loukyam". However, it worked well with the audience and fetched positive feedback from them.

Trade experts were of the opinion that the makers of "Loukyam" were taking a risk by releasing the film when the biggies like "Power" and "Aagadu" were dominating the screens.

They predicted that the Gopichand starrer will do only an average business due to those biggies. However, the film impressed the audience and emerged successful.

Also, the failure of "Aagadu" helped to boost the business of "Loukyam." The release of Ram Charan's "Govindudu Andarivadele" ("GAV") on 1 October also did not affect the business of "Loukyam" and it continued to hold on well at the box office.

The second-time collaboration of director Sriwass and Gopichand after "Lakshyam", which hit the screens in 2007, has worked once again.

"Loukyam" has Rakul Preet Singh opposite Gopichand and it also has Brahmanandam, Sampath Raj, Prudhvi Raj and Rahul Dev in significant roles.
