If the latest reports are to be believed, Telugu actor Ram Charan might team up with director Gautham Menon for a new film.
Ram Charan is one of the top actors in Telugu cinema with several hits to his credit including "Magadheera" ("Maaveeran" in Tamil), "Naayak" and "Yevadu" among others. Last year, the actor made his acting debut in Bollywood with "Zanjeer," a remake of the 1970s film of the same name.
Now, it seems Ram Charan (son of megastar Chiranjeevi) is planning to make his Tamil debut soon. The actor has revealed that he is in talks with director Gautham Menon for a Tamil-Telugu bilingual.
"I've been wanting to act in a straight Tamil film for a long time. I have plans to act in a Tamil film soon. I am in talks with director Gautham Menon and if everything goes to I could start shooting for the movie sometime next year," Ram Charan was quoted as saying by The Times of India.
Ram Charan is awaiting the release of his Telugu film "Govindudu Andarivadele" ("GAV"), a family entertainer, which is set to hit the screens on 1 October. There are also reports claiming that the actor will be teaming up with director Srinu Vaitla for his next project in Telugu. However, an official announcement regarding the project is still awaited.
On the other hand, Gautham Menon is currently busy with his upcoming project with Ajith. The film, referred as "Thala 55" (Ajith's 55th film), is progressing well and is expected to be wrapped up soon. This is the first time that Gautham and Ajith have teamed up for a project, which has raised huge expectations surrounding the project. The film, touted to be an action thriller, has Anushka Shetty and Trisha Krishnan as the female leads.
The Ajith starrer is expected to hit the screens in January 2015. Post the completion of this project, Gautham will resume shooting his film with Simbu. There were rumours that the film has been dropped. However, Gautham had clarified that he will resume the film's shooting after completing Ajith's project.
If the Ram Charan-Gautham Menon film is confirmed, it is expected to take off only after the actor-director duo complete their respective projects.
