Aamir Khan's "PK" has made headlines ever since its first poster was revealed a few weeks back. While the initial frenzy was over the lead actor going nude for the poster, this time around the film has managed to grab the spotlight with its satellite rights deal.

According to reports, the makers of the film have managed to strike a good deal with television channels. The satellite rights of the film will be sold for whopping ₹85 crore, Bollywood Hungama reported.

But the producers have locked the deal with the reported amount with a guarantee that "PK" will earn ₹300 crore from domestic box office.

Aamir's last film "Dhoom 3" was expected to earn ₹300 crore from collection centers in India, but it failed to do so. The film's lifetime domestic business settled with ₹284 crore.

But trade analysts have huge expectations from the film as it brings back the blockbuster jodi of "3 Idiots" – Aamir and Rajkumar Hirani.

Satellite rights contribute to 30-35 percent of the film's revenue, but it depends on the production cost of the film as well.

If the producers of "PK" manage to earn ₹85 crore from satellite rights, it would be the biggest satellite deal ever.

Last year, Shah Rukh Khan's "Chennai Express" satellite rights was sold for ₹45 crore to Zee. It was said to be the biggest ever, but "Dhoom 3" beat it, when its satellite deal was sold to Sony Television for whopping ₹75 crore.

Salman Khan's "Kick", which is the highest grosser of the year till now, earned ₹50 crore from the satellite rights deal.

But Aamir has again managed to beat all the previous deals with "PK".

"PK" is a satirical film directed by Hirani and co-produced by Hirani, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Siddharth Roy Kapur. It features Aamir, Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Boman Irani and Sanjay Dutt in key roles.

The film is set to release on Aamir's lucky period i.e. on 19 December.
