Gopichand's "Loukyam" has taken a good opening at the AP/Nizam box office.
"Loukyam" hit the screens on 26 September and received decent reviews from the critics. The romantic comedy entertainer fared well on the opening day and is estimated to have earned around ₹2.1 crore AP/Nizam share, according to Andhraboxoffice.
The Gopichand starrer continued its good run on Saturday, 27 September and has reportedly earned around ₹1.4 crore at the AP/Nizam box office. If the film performs well on Sunday, it is likely to end the opening weekend on a good note.
Directed by Sriwaas, "Loukyam" has Gopichand and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles. Unlike Gopichand's previous films, which involved a lot of action scenes, "Loukyam" is a family entertainer with loads of comedy. The film has Brahmanandam and Prudhvi to provide comic relief.
Critics have stated that though "Loukyam" is a regular commercial entertainer, it offers good entertainment with comedy.
The performances of Gopichand, Brahmanandam and Prudhvi Raj have won accolades from the critics. The film's technical aspects have also received decent feedback from them.
While the film is expected to end the opening weekend on a good note, it remains to be seen as how it fares during the week days.
The rom-com has only two more days to rake in some decent collections, after which it will be facing competition from Ram Charan's "Govindudu Andarivadele." The family entertainer, directed by Krishna Vamsi, is all set to hit the screens on 1 October as a Dussehra treat for the fans.
The Ram Charan starrer is carrying positive pre-release thanks to the impressive trailer and the songs. The film is expected to take fantastic openings on the first day as the actor has a huge fan-following worldwide. It will be enjoying a long weekend, from 1-5 October, and is likely to fetch good collections at the box office.
If the Ram Charan starrer impresses the audience and fares well, the collections of "Loukyam" might take a hit. One needs to wait and watch as to how the Gopichand starrer performs in the coming days.
