Salman Khan's "Kick" is one of the most successful and profitable film of the year.
The film not only earned ₹200 crore, but has also touched the ₹100 crore mark in terms of the distributor's share at the domestic box office.
The distributor's share is calculated after the rent and profit of the multiplex owners is deducted from the nett earnings.
Although, this year six movies have crossed the ₹100 crore mark, only "Kick" has actually managed to earn ₹100 crore after deducting the distributor's share, according to Box Office India.
Apart from "Kick", there are three other films that have managed to cross the mark, including Salman's "Ek Tha Tiger", Shah Rukh Khan's "Chennai Express" and Aamir Khan's "Dhoom 3".
With "Kick" and "Ek Tha Tiger", Salman leads the race with two films, followed by Shah Rukh and Aamir.
Here are the ₹100 crore grosser films and their distributor shares as shared by Box Office India:
1. Kick: Distributor share ₹117.5 crore and lifetime nett collections ₹231.85 crore.
2. Singham Returns: Distributor share ₹77 crore and lifetime collection ₹140.39 crore.
3. Jai Ho: Distributor share ₹58 crore and lifetime collection ₹116 crore
4. Holiday- A Soldier Is Never Off Duty: Distributor share ₹56 crore and lifetime collection ₹112.45 crore
5. Ek Villain: Distributor share ₹49.75 crore and lifetime collection ₹105.62 crore
6. 2 States: Distributor share ₹49.50 crore and lifetime collection ₹102.13 crore
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn's "Singham Returns" has almost finished its domestic box office run in India. Till the fourth weekend, the film accumulated around ₹140.39 crore.
"Singham Returns" had enjoyed first two weeks in India, but the collections declined drastically after it entered into its third week. The screen count and collection declined further once it entered into the fourth week.
The release of Priyanka Chopra's "Mary Kom" also affected the earnings of the Devgn starrer in India.
