The showstopper for a designer at a fashion event, Yuvraj Singh, sent the media into a tizzy on Saturday (August 23) when he kissed his ex-girlfriend, Kim Sharma, on her cheek, in full public view.
Kim was seated near the stage, when Yuvraj, who was walking back with the designer, spotted her. That’s when he momentarily stepped off the ramp to greet the now-married actor. The result was a loud cheer from the audience that left the cricketer rather embarrassed. After the show, the two met outside the venue as well, and exchanged pleasantries.
The couple dated for four years and ended their relationship in 2007, even as rumours of them getting ready to walk down the aisle did the rounds. Some reports suggested that Yuvraj’s mother, Shabnam Singh, didn’t approve of Kim, while others claimed it was the actor’s obsessive behaviour that led to the break-up. Later, Kim was quoted saying that they had compatibility issues. In 2010, she had a hush-hush wedding with Kenyan businessman Ali Punjani and relocated to Nairobi.
Later, on Simi Garewal’s chat show, while talking about his relationship, Yuvraj had said, “Yes, I was going to get married, as she has been the main love of my life. She is married now, so it’s not good to talk about her.”
The former lovers have bumped into each other a few times since their break-up. On the last such occasion, they were seen having an animated discussion when they met at a suburban eatery.
