Nee Jathaga Nenundali Telugu Movie Review and Rating
Producer Bandla Ganesh Babu's latest venture Nee Jathaga Nenundali is a remake of Blockbuster Hindi film Aashiqui 2. Its soundtracks, which are the dubbed versions of the original songs, have become chartbusters thereby raising the viewers' expections to the sky high. The makers of the movie have , released it in theatres today (August 22) as a birthday gift yo Megastar Chiranjeevi.
Story:
Raghav Jayaram (Sachiin Joshi) is a singer who is in the process of ruining his career and everything he has because of his alcohol addiction. After one of his concerts, Raghav goes to a bar despite the advice of his manager and best friend, Vivek (Shashank). There he meets Gayatri Nandana (Nazia Hussain), who is the bar singer and happens to be singing his song. He is impressed by her voice and promises to take her to Hyderabad After a couple hurdles, he ends up mentoring her and she becomes a huge star.
Meanwhile, Raghav’s career is pretty much over, which he doesn't take very well. As much as he tries to be supportive, his jealousy does come in the way. It also doesn't help that he has an alcohol addiction. Gayatri does her best to better Rahul, and never gives up on him. I'll stop there so I don't give too much away, but that's the general storyline.
Performances:
Sachin: Despite playing a very emotional role, Sachin fails to emote throughout the film. His bad acting turns out to be the biggest weakness of the movie. You can hardly find any expression in his face. He has done a handful of films already and it is shocking to see him perform like a newcomer with nil experience.
Naziya: Naziya too disappoints with poor performance. One doesn't get such meaty roles in the first outing itself. But Naziya's expressions are too limited and she is only slightly better than Sachin.
Others: Rao Ramesh is alright. Sashank is fine. Posani Krishna Murali played a brief role.
Technical Departments:
Choosing to remake a film like Aashique 2 itself is an appreciable factor and the execution was perfect and flawless. The director managed to create the same magic through Nee Jathaga Nenundali as well. The entire set up of the film was shot in a neat and clean manner. There was no bling or glitter in the execution. It was simple and sober.Music is the soul of Nee Jathaga Nenundali. The music was just the same as it was in Hindi but the lyrics in Telugu created the difference.

Analysis:
NJN is almost Xerox copy of the original where the director didn't dare to make any changes. An emotional romantic tale demands for a lead pair who can make you fall in love with them and feel their pain. Aashiqui 2 was blessed with such an able lead pair and no wonder it did wonders at the box office.
The major backbone of Nee Jathaga Nenundali is love and music. Both these factors are perfectly interlinked and blended in a subtle manner. Nee Jathaga Nenundali is a romantic musical entertainer which has emotions that will thrust you into tears towards the climax.
Final Verdict: Nee Jathaga Nenundali ruins the original on many levels and most of the blame should go to its lead pair. It is hard to enjoy the songs in NJN if you are a fan of Aashiqui 2 songs. All the songs have that dubbing flavor which won't let you enjoy the soulful melodies. Nee Jathaga Nenundali is not recommended if you have seen Aashiqui 2. It is also not recommended to those who have not seen the original. Better watch the home edition of Aashiqui 2 than seeing this remake that is not even half of it.
RedGoli Rating: 2.5/5
