YSR Congress senior leader and Ex PRP leader from Kurnool district Bhuma Nagireddy has taken on actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi. In an interview to TV channel, Bhuma wore his heart on his sleeve and explained the turn of events in political career in "changing" parties. Bhuma said, "Although I had served TDP very much during tough times, I didn't get due recognition within the party. There were times where I was insulted and I had cried in the party but in vain. With Chiranjeevi forayed into politics, I thought he was an alternative and coming to serve people. Chiranjeevi doesn't know politics. I came to knew this only after joining his party (PRP)." Bhuma said that he hardly met late CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy and said he has met Jagan Mohan Reddy only after the death of YSR.
Talking about Jagan, Bhuma simply said without elaboration, "Jagan is a different politician." When asked about Bhuma's political future as Jagan is battling with several cases, Bhuma pointed out, "Even Chandra Babu has cases against him." Bhuma claimed that he was not political opportunist and said he has no desires to get high posts.
Bhuma Nagireddy who began his political career as TDP MLA went onto become Nandyal MP. Bhuma Nagireddy was popular for contesting against then Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, from Nandyal, although defeated with slight majority. His wife Shobha Nagireddy was also politician who died in a road accident recently.
