Pooja Jhaveri is the latest actress from Mumbai,who's out to test her luck in Tollywood. She's playing one of the lead roles in Karthik Varma's upcoming thriller, Bham Bholenath. Navdeep, Naveen Chandra and Pradeep are playing the lead roles in the movie directed by Karthik Varma. Pooja was working as an assistant choreographer in Mumbai when she landed the movie offer. "I always wanted to be an actress, but my parents had their share of doubts since we had no connection to the film industry. I come from a Gujarati family and after my family moved to Mumbai, I enrolled in a graphic designing course. For nearly a year and a half, I worked as an assistant choreographer in Bollywood while pursuing my studies simultaneously. One day, I received a random call for an audition and that's how my debut in Tollywood happened," Pooja recalls.
The experience of working in Bollywood came in handy for the actress while shooting for her Telugu film, however, she admits being nervous on the first day of the shoot. "I was told that both Navdeep and Naveen Chandra are very serious about their work, but they made me feel very comfortable. Thereafter, I had a blast shooting for the film. It also helped that the entire team was quite young. But more than that, I am happy that I am making my debut in an interesting film. I'm paired opposite Navdeep, but it's an usual love story that will take the audience by surprise. And the climax is going to come as a complete surprise. There was a time when we shot for 48 hours straight without a break. I guess once you put your heart into a film, nothing else matters," she says.
Born and raised in a small town near Vapi, Gujarat, Pooja Jhaveri's tryst with performing arts began at a very young age. Apparently, the actress' first stage performance was at the age of three and since then she has been performing at several events in her native place. "I never had a formal training in dance, but once my elder sister and mother figured out that I love dancing, they kept pushing me to perform on stage. In fact, when I was 14 years old, I had set up a dance academy in my town and there were about 100 kids who were learning dance from me.Perhaps, that's what encouraged me to take up choreography when I first came to Mumbai."
