Emraan Hashmi's "Ungli" and Mannara's "Zid" completed their first week run at the domestic box office on 4 December.
Ungli
The film had a disappointing first week at domestic box office. "Ungli" starring Emraan, Randeep Hooda, Kangana Ranaut and Sanjay Dutt in key roles minted ₹19.15 crore in seven days.
The opening week breakup of the film according to Bollywood Hungama is: Friday ₹3.6 crore, Saturday ₹4.15 crore, Sunday ₹5.05 crore, Monday ₹1.90 crore, Tuesday ₹1.65 crore, Wednesday ₹1.45 crore and Thursday ₹1.35 crore.
The film started on a decent note last week, but failed to maintain the same hold during the weekdays. The box office earnings of the film declined drastically after the opening weekend.
The film struggled to earn ₹19 crore in first week and the earnings will drop in its second week after the release of "Action Jackson".
Zid
"Zid" on the other hand maintained a steady pace at the box office. The erotic thriller directed by Vivek Agnihotri raked in ₹14.08 crore in its first week.
The film features newcomers and was by and large targeted at single screens audience, but still it managed to fare well compared to "Ungli".
Here is the first week breakup of the film is: Friday ₹2.82 crore, Saturday ₹2.74 crore, Sunday ₹3.12 crore, Monday ₹1.67 crore, Tuesday ₹1.38 crore, Wednesday ₹1.26 crore and Thursday ₹1.09 crore.
The film will earn its production cost by second weekend and will enter into the safe zone.
Overall, after one week "Zid" has outshined "Ungli" in Indian markets. Emraan's film had a very disappointing performance at the box office, while "Zid" managed to fare well.
