Andrew Garfield may not reprise his role in the "Amazing Spider-Man" franchise. There is a major buzz that the actor has been shown an exit door by Sony. A bevy of new emails, courtesy Sony hack, have revealed that makers are not happy with the actor. Moreover, it is also said that Marvel will be taking over the franchise from Sony.
Since then there is a major speculation as to who will step in Peter Parker's shoes. Here are the top 4 actors who can do justice to role if casted as Spiderman, as per Russ Burlingame of Comic Book.
The first name, which has popped up, is of Drake Bell. The actor is already known for lending his voice to Marvel's "Ultimate Spider-Man." He is not new to the Spider-Man universe and his experience may come handy while playing Parker in live-action. Burlingame feels that Bell will make a great Spidey as for him there is not "going to be much of a learning curve in finding the character and voice."
Ansel Elgort has made a name for himself in the industry. He is especially famous amongst the teens, thanks to his role in "Divergent" and "The Fault in Our Star." Elgort is reportedly a solid actor and has apt looks to play Peter Parker.
Robbie Amell is best known to play Firestorm in "The Flash." His chiselled features give him an upper hand when it comes to playing college going Peter Parker, as per the Website. Burlingame feels that it is Amell's charm, which has helped him get many roles, and Spiderman will fit like a glove, if he is given an opportunity to play.
Toby Maguire became a household name when he did his first Spiderman film in 2002. The actor knows the history and geography of the character. However, chances of him getting casted are dim, as a new face may be Marvel's choice.
Meanwhile, it is Garfield's rep is yet to comment on the rumours of the actor's exit from the popular franchise. The actor will be next seen in "Silence" and "Hacksaw Ridge."
