Emraan Hashmi's "Ungli" focuses on corruption, but it's not as hard hitting as Aamir Khan's "Rang De Basanti" or Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher's "A Wednesday", critics said.

The film is directed by Rensil D'Silva and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. Along with Hashmi, the film features Randeep Hooda, Kangana Ranaut, Sanjay Dutt and Neha Dhupia in key roles.

While some critics have given mixed reviews, some have thrashed the movie saying it's a very boring film.

However, Bollywood celebrities have given positive reviews and have called it a refreshing film.

Read below the critics as well as celebs review:

Dia Mirza: Be proud team #Ungli. Such a refreshing film! Go watch it everyone. I know I'm going to watch again

Check out critics review below:

Manjusha Radhakrishnan of Gulf News said: "Ungli, led by Randeep Hooda, Emraan Hashmi and Sanjay Dutt, is loaded with noble intentions, but is weighed down by uneven execution and simplistic twists.

"It's lame and it's tough for a viewer to be invested in their causes. Also, inserting songs set in swanky nightclubs doesn't exactly scream nail-biting whodunit."

Sneha May Francis of Emirates 24/7 said: "Directors Renzil D'Silva reduces his film from soaring by packing in innumerable illogical situations. It sets out impressively at first, but soon loses the plot, with slows down with songs of bromance, romance and what not."

Lokesh Dharmani of Masala said: "Ungli deals with corruption in a very simplistic, superficial way. It never reaches out to the root of the problem, is quick to judge the poor Pandu hawaldaar or the auto drivers on the road and is quicker to punish them."

Soumya Srivastava of Hindustan Times said: "So here's what Ungli is all about. For the first 20 minutes, you don't get to hear anything other than that weird word: Ungli. It's irritating, to put it mildly.

"The only way you can enjoy this mindless film is by looking at the fun side of the 'witty punishments' the vigilante foursome unleashes on its victims."

Deepanjana Pal of Firstpost said: "There are more holes in Ungli's plot than there are potholes in Mumbai roads and D'Silva hopes that we will focus instead on how deep Hooda's voice is (he does most of the talking in the film)."

Kamaal R Khan tweeted: "What a crap Ghatiya Wahiyat film #Ungli Director ne khud ko aisi ungli ki, ki ab zindagi bhar ungli Karne ke liye royega."
