Bollywood movie "Kill Dil" registered a further drop in its business on Tuesday and collected ₹2.50 crore at the Indian box office, taking its five-day domestic total to ₹25.48 crores net.
Released in 2000+ screens in the domestic market on 14 November, "Kill Dil" opened to a decent response and did good business at the Indian box office on Friday. The movie raked in ₹6.53 crore at the domestic box office on the first day. It was expected to beat the opening day record of Ranveer's previous release "Gunday", which had raked in ₹16 crore, but it fell back with a huge margin.
Word-of-mouth publicity was expected to better the business of "Kill Dil" on Saturday, but instead it witnessed a drop. It collected ₹6.36 crore at the Indian box office on the second day. The movie showed a big leap on Sunday. On its third day, the film collected ₹7.30 crore, taking its three-day domestic collection to ₹20.18 crore.
Being a working day, Monday saw "Kill Dil" drop considerably. When compared to its opening day collection, the movie had a nearly 60% dip in its numbers. It collected ₹2.80 crore in the domestic market on its fourth day. Having shown further drop on Tuesday, the film has collected approximately ₹2.50 crore at the Indian box office.
However, "Kill Dil" has collected a total of ₹25.48 crore at the Indian box office in the past five days. It has raked in ₹8.08 crore at the international box office in its opening weekend. Its global total stands at ₹33.56 crore.
The Govinda, Ranveer Singh, Ali Zafar and Parineeti Chopra starrer is a big budget Bollywood film. The film has been made with a whopping budget of ₹35 crore. Trade analysts predict that it will recover its production cost and a small amount of profit from its theatrical run by the end of its first week.
