Ranveer Singh-Parineeti Chopra's "Kill Dil" has had a disappointing run at the domestic box office. The film, which minted around Rs₹29 crore in its first week, has witnessed a drop in its collections even in the second week.

The action-drama is said to have raked in around ₹Rs 31 crore in nine days at the domestic box office. With "Happy Ending" having released and receiving decent reviews, "Kill Dil" is unlikely to pick up in the coming days. The film is expected to collect ₹Rs 35 crore in lifetime collections, according to Koimoi.

"Kill Dil," which hit the screens on 14 November, carried positive pre-release buzz, but the film failed to live up to the expectations and fared ordinarily in its opening week. It didn't pick up and ended the first weekend with just around ₹Rs 20 crore at the Indian box office. The film's performance dropped further during the weekdays and it managed to earn only Rs 29 crore.

Ranveer's last two releases – "Ram Leela" and "Gunday" – fared well at the box office. The actor was set for a hat-trick with "Kill Dil," but considering the film's poor performance it remains to be seen as to how long the action-entertainer will be able to hold on to the screens.

"Kill Dil" is a commercial potboiler with Ranveer Singh and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles. Govinda and Ali Zafar have appeared in supporting roles in the romantic action-entertainer produced by Yash Raj Films.

The Shaukeens

The film witnessed a below average second week at the domestic box office. The comedy-drama has minted ₹Rs 30 lakh on second Thursday (20 November) and its two-week collections amount to ₹Rs 32.36 crore in India, according to Koimoi.

"The Shaukeens" received average reviews from the critics and the audience also seemed to have given a thumbs down to the film. With the word of mouth option faring poorly, the film failed to pick up at the box office.

Happy New Year

Farah Khan's multi-starrer "Happy New Year" has successfully completed a 30-day theatrical run on Saturday. The film which minted around ₹Rs 203 crore at the domestic box office has surpassed "3 Idiots" and has emerged as the fifth-highest grossing bollywood film of all time. It is unlikely to beat the collections of other top grossers including "Chennai Express," "Kick," "Dhoom 3" and "Krrish 3."

With several releases set for release in the next few weeks, it is unlikely for "Happy New Year" to hold on to the screens. The SRK-starrer is expected to end its busines by this wekeend as its collections seem to be dropping further. It remains to be seen if the film will be able to sustain and complete a 50-day run at least in a few theatres.
