This weekend (28-30 October), box office witnessed a dull period since the new releases "Roar", "Super Nani" and Hollywood movie "Gone Girl" had low collections.
Despite entering the second week, Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year" dominated the box office market, giving a tough competition to the new releases.
"Super Nani"
Rekha's comeback film "Super Nani" had a very poor start and the opening weekend total also remained low. In the first three days of its release, the women oriented film minted ₹1.42 crore, according to Bollywood Hungama.
The film, which was expected to lead the market, has failed to impress audiences. Since the film disappointed with its opening weekend collection, it is unlikely that Rekha's comeback movie, which was thrashed by critics, will pick during the weekdays.
"Roar"
"Roar – Tigers of the Sundarbans" surprisingly had a very good opening weekend. The film, which wasn't promoted heavily, minted ₹5 crore in three days.
With no big star in the film, "Roar" managed to roar at the box office. The film is now expected to take its lifetime collection to ₹10 crore.
"Gone Girl"
Hollywood movie "Gone Girl" starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike had a decent opening weekend in India. The film had low collection on Friday and Saturday, but it picked up on Sunday. The three days total of the film stands at ₹2.53 crore.
The three days collection of David Fincher directorial film is: Friday ₹55 lakh, Saturday ₹90 lakh and Sunday ₹1.08 crore.
The positive word of mouth is expected to give the film a decent opening week in India.
