The title and the first look of actor Dhanush's new film with director Balaji Mohan has been revealed. The film has been named as "Maari" and Dhanush has confirmed it via his Twitter handle.

The first look poster showing Dhanush has also been released. (Check below the poster)

Expectations for the title was high ever since the film went on the floors as Mohan is well-known for using unique titles for his films such as "Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi" and "Vaayai Moodi Pesavum." Both the films were critically-acclaimed and fared decently at the box office.

There are huge expectations for "Maari" as the actor-director duo has teamed up for the first time.

Dhanush is on a roll with the success of his last release "Velai Illa Pattathari", which turned out to be a blockbuster at the box office. The actor is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming film "Anegan". On the other hand, Balaji Mohan is basking in the success of Dulquer Salmaan-Nazriya Nazrin starrer "Vaayai Moodi Pesavum".

It will be interesting to see if "Maari" will impress the audience. Kajal Aggarwal will play the female lead role opposite Dhanush. The duo was supposed to team up for Vetrimaran's "Polladhavan" but missed out the opportunity. But, now they will be seen sharing screen space in Mohan's "Maari."

The film's shooting kicked off recently and is progressing well. It is expected to be wrapped up soon and hit the screens next year. Robo Shankar, who tickled the audience's funny bones in the Dulquer starrer will be seen playing an important role in this upcoming film.

Music composer Anirudh has once again joined hands with Dhanush for this film after the stupendous success of their albums "3" and "Velai Illa Pattathari". Radhika Sarathkumar's Magic Frames will be producing the project, and it is expected to be different from Mohan's other romantic flicks.
