Telugu Film Industry has emerged as NO.1 across the Nation when it comes to number of films during the period April 2013 to March 2014. Out of 1966 Films made in India, Tollywood produced 349 in this one year period. While Kollywood came up with 326 movies, Bollywood has delivered 263 films.
The Previous Year (April 2012 - March 2013), About 1724 Films have been made in India. While Tamil Film Industry was leading with 292 films, Tollywood and Bollywood made 280 and 255 movies respectively.
Sharp rise in the number of film made down South is because of the digital technology revolution. These days Digital Cinema has been dominating Celluloid Movies. The count of Celluloid movies dropped down to 188 from 744 the previous year and at the same time count of Digital Films rose to 1778 from 980 the previous year.
India is still the country delivering highest number of films in the World. Now, TFI retains its top slot after several years and its not a bad reason to celebrate!
