While several celebs have lent their support to actress Shweta Basu Prasad, who was caught in a prostitution scandal some time back, director Hansal Mehta went a step ahead to express his willingness to cast Prasad in his upcoming film.
And now, the recent one to offer a film to the actress is "Makdee" director Vishal Bhardwaj. Prasad made her Bollywood debut in Bhardwaj's "Makdee" that won her a National award for best child artist.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, the producer-director, who is awaiting his big release on 2 October "Haider" starring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, opened up about Prasad and her sex scandal.
Supporting Prasad, Bhardwaj mentioned that he intends to write a role for the talented actress in one of his films.
The filmmaker even blamed the media for overstating the controversy by targeting the popularity of Prasad rather than exposing the details of the rich clients involved in the racket.
However, he has not yet approached the lady for the role as he wants the whole matter to subside before getting in touch with her.
On 31 August, Prasad, 23, along with her pimp was caught red-handed in a plush hotel in Hyderabad. Later, the actress admitted to the police that she took up prostitution as there weren't any film offers and she had to support her family financially.
The actress thereafter has been lodged in a rehabilitation home for women, where she will apparently be staying for a couple of months.
The talented actress rose to fame as a child actress in popular TV serial "Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii". Other than "Makdee" (2002), she also acted in "Iqbal"(2005).
Prasad later tried her hands down south as well and played the lead role in a few low budget south Indian movies.
