The song-teaser of "Aathi" from Vijay's "Kaththi" has been released on the special occasion of music composer Anirudh's birthday.
"Kaththi" is Anirudh's first album with Vijay and Murugadoss. There were huge expectations for the film's audio and looking at the response for the songs, one can say that the album has lived up to the expectations of audience.
"Kaththi" album has five songs and two theme tracks. The "Aathi" song rendered by Vishal Dadlani of "Chennai Express" fame and Hip Hop Aadhi, has turned out to be a hit among the fans. "Aathi" full audio song has already received more than half-a-million hits on YouTube. The newly-released song teaser is likely to fetch good response from the fans.
Anirudh has successfully completed the background score for the Vijay starrer. "Successfully completed the #bgm background score of #Kaththi now, a day before my birthday :) Diwali pattaasu ready!," the young music composer had tweeted.
"Kaththi" is all set to hit the screens on 22 October as a Diwali treat for the fans. The film is expected to release in more than 1,500 screens worldwide.
It will be Vijay's second release of 2014 after "Jilla", which released during Pongal 2014. "Jilla" turned out to be an average grosser at the box office and Vijay fans will be hoping that "Kaththi" strikes gold at the box office.
The second-time collaboration of Vijay-Murugadoss has raised expectations among the fans. The film is likely to take fantastic openings on the first day of its release, but its overall performance will depend on its content.
"Kaththi" will enjoy a five-day weekend owing to Diwali. The long holiday is likely to help the film fetch good collections at the box office. Although the Vijay starrer will be clashing with "Poojai", it is likely to dominate the screens over the Vishal starrer.
Diwali has proved to be a lucky period for Vijay. Some of the actor's films that released during the festival, including "Thuppakki", have performed well at the box office. It needs to be seen whether "Kaththi" will be able to emerge successful.
