Recently, the news of Kamal Haasan's injury while shooting for his latest flick "Papanasam" made headlines. Now, the actor has come up with a statement and clarified that he was not injured while shooting for the film.
"Before various new ailments are endowed upon me, I hasten to clarify that all is well. It is not true that I was injured while shooting. It was a makeup rubber prosthetic that slipped into my nasal passage and had to be carefully removed under medical supervision. It was a stunt scene so I had simulated injuries on the face," said the actor in a statement that was issued by IANS.
Rumours suggested that the actor was rushed to a hospital with a bruised face after he succumbed to injuries while shooting a stunt scene for the film. Kamal's new statement has, however, cooled down the things surrounding the rumour.
Earlier, "Papanasam" shooting was stalled for a day when the actor suffered from food poisoning. However, he was discharged soon.
"Papanasam", directed by Jeethu Joseph is the official Tamil remake of the Malayalam superhit movie "Drishyam", which starred Mohanlal in the lead, and Kamal will be seen speaking Thirunalveli accent for the first time in this film. The film also marks the comeback of actress Gauthami after a long gap of nearly 20 years.
The upcoming film also faced a lot of troubles when Malayalam filmmaker and script writer Satheesh Paul approached the court to stall the filming of the Tamil version. However, the court permitted the makers to continue its shooting.
The shooting of "Papanasam" is currently proceeding in Thodupuzha, Kerala, where the original film was also shot. The Kamal starrer is produced jointly by Wide Angle Creations and Raj Kumar Theatres Pvt Ltd.
Meanwhile, Kamal is also awaiting the release of his films "Uttama Villain" and "Vishwaroopam 2".
