The release of actor Manchu Manoj's highly-anticipated Telugu movie "Current Theega", which was slated to hit the screens this Friday, 17 October, has been postponed, due to the natural disaster - cyclone HudHud in Vizag.
On 13 October, Manoj made an official announcement about the delay in the release of his upcoming movie. The makers of the movie are yet to finalise a fresh release date for the film. The actor has already left for Vizag to help the victims of Hudhud. Meanwhile, he welcomed his followers to join hands with him to help the disaster victims.
Manoj tweeted, "#CurrentTheega Postponed due to the Cyclone .. Me my friends and fans r going to vizag to help as much as we can.. Details in some tym.." The actor added, "Planning how to go and everything .. Will update u guys the plan and everyone r welcome to help Vizag and join us :)"
"Current Theega" is a romantic-action-comedy movie, which is a remake of director Ponram's Tamil film "Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam". Written by Ponram, the movie is a love story of an aimless guy. The Tamil flick has become a big hit at the box office and it was also remade in Kannada as "Adyaksha", which reaped good prospects at the ticket counters.
G Nageswara Reddy has directed "Current Theega", which has been produced by Manchu Vishnu under the banner of 24 Frames Factory. The director has made some changes to suit the taste of the Telugu audience.
"We have made a lot of changes and added a villain's character in Telugu. Action sequences are also heavy when compared to the original and the dialogues here are funnier," 123Telugu quoted Manoj as saying.
Manoj and Rakul Preet Singh are playing the lead roles in the upcoming movie, while Jagapathi Babu appears in an important role. Bollywood actress Sunny Leone, who is foraying into Tollywood with this movie, is essaying the role of a teacher. She will also be seen in an item song.
Achu composed the music for the movie, while Satish Mutyala handled the cinematography.
