The musical heist drama directed by Farah Khan minted approximately INR 9.5 crore on the Seenth Day(First Thursday), according to Koimoi.com. The six day nett earning of the film stands at INR149.50 crore, as per early estimates. The seventh day box office income of the film is decent, because of the week coming to an end. Also, several other big budgets films have earned in the same range on the first Thursday. Meanwhile, the film has recorded the highest opening weekend collection at the domestic box office.
The Day 6 box office figures of Happy New Year are also similar – Rs 12.5 crore, finally taking the Indian box office total to Rs 149.5 crore (round figure Rs 150 crore).
Here are the day-wise collections of Happy New Year at the Indian box office:
1st Day – Rs 44.97 crore
2 Days – Rs 78.79 crore
3 Days – Rs 108.86 crore (all languages)
4 Days – Rs 124 crore
5 Days – Rs 137 crore
6 Days – Rs 149.5 crore.
With another weekend approaching and no big Bollywood movie in sight, Happy New Year is most likely to reach the Rs 200-crore club at the Indian box office. That should happen by Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday on November 2. Let’s wait and watch.
