If we are to go by the latest buzz in T-Town, actress Rakul Preet Singh, who is basking in the success of "Loukyam", is likely to play the love interest of 'Power Star' Pawan Kalyan in his upcoming movie "Gabbar Singh 2".
The casting of the female lead for "Gabbar Singh 2" has been creating some buzz in the media, ever since Samapath Nandi announced the project.
Leading actresses like Anushka Shetty, Samantha, Tamannaah Bhatia and Shruti Haasan were linked with this big-ticket movie. Also, it was earlier reported that the makers had approached Shraddha Kapoor for the female lead.
And now, latest reports suggest that Rakul Preet is being considered for the role.
"Rakul Preet might play the female lead opposite Pawan Kalyan in "Gabbar Singh 2". Though an official confirmation is still awaited, her name has been strongly making the rounds," reported 123Telugu.
Rakul Preet is a model-turned-actress. Having made her acting debut with Kannada film "Gilli", she forayed into Tollywood with "Keratam". She got a big break with her second Telugu project "Venkatadri Express", which became a big hit. Its success flooded her with several exciting offers from the Telugu film industry.
Her third Telugu movie "Loukyam", which released a few weeks ago, is making superb collections at the box office, and has become another big hit in her career. Currently, Rakul Preet has three big-budget Telugu movies lined up - "Rough", "Current Theega" and "Pandaga Chesko" - which are all scheduled to release soon.
Rakul Preet also has Ravi Teja's "Kick 2" and Srinivas Reddy's untitled project, which have been lined up for shooting. She is also playing the female lead in Ramesh Sippy's Bollywood movie "Shimla Mirchi". She is expected to wrap up all these projects, before taking up Pawan Kalyan's "Gabbar Singh 2".
