"Bang Bang", which showed drop on second Friday, has picked up its pace at the box office on Saturday.

The film starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles has created one more record by beating Ajay Devgn's "Singham Returns" net box office collection.

"Bang Bang" has now become the second highest grosser film of the year with total ₹144.45 crore net income. Devgn's "Singham Returns" had minted ₹141 crore in its lifetime run from domestic box office.

"Bang Bang" collected approximately ₹5 crore on second Saturday to take its overall total to more than ₹145 crore, according to Koimoi.com.

The net income has taken the film to second spot, but the worldwide gross amount is still at the eighth position. "Bang Bang" gross total after 10 days stands at ₹265.25 crore.

It has beaten Salman Khan's "Dabangg 2" gross earnings record of ₹265 crore by small margin. At domestic box office, the next target of the film is to beat "Kick" record and at worldwide box office it is expected to beat "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" record.

The film will enjoy another week of free run as there is no big release till Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year".

"Bang Bang has succeeded as it is unpretentious, unabashed and delivers as promised. It was meant to be a joy ride with superstars with high dose of cool quotient and that is what has paid off. Despite competition with a critically acclaimed film and loss of some screen count, it has maintained its hold with the masses which is a high indeed for Hrithik, Katrina and of course Siddharth. With the next big release (Happy New Year) more than 15 days away, the stage is set for Bang Bang to consolidate," says senior trade journalist Joginder Tuteja told The Times of India.
