"Avengers: Age of Ultron" director Joss Whedon recently caused a frenzy among fans when he jokingly hinted that a lead character's life could be in danger in the upcoming instalment of the superhero movie.
When asked about what fans could expect from "Avengers: Age of Ultron," Whedon said: "Death, Death and Death." Although he meant it as a joke, several fans believe the fate of one character is in jeopardy.
So which Avenger will bite the dust?
A good number of people believe it could be Captain America, as the promo pictures released by Marvel show the superhero's shield with a crack. Supporting the claim, Movie Pilot noted that "the near indestructible shield was broken, cracked into pieces."
The website also noted that Black Widow could be the fallen Avenger, as she has no special super powers. Losing Natasha Romanoff could be what the rest of the Avengers need to stick together and work towards the destruction of Ultron, noted Movie Pilot.
But spoilers indicate that "Avengers: Age of Ultron" will not disappoint, as the action will be mixed with a lot of drama too. For instance, the official synopsis indicates that the newcomers don't exactly agree with the rest of the team, resulting in internal conflict.
The mightiest will be forced to reunite "and work with newcomers Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch to battle new antagonist Ultron, who receives an all-new origin story, while dealing with a new level of inner conflict amongst the team," the official synopsis reads. "Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch may not necessarily agree with The Avengers and Tony Stark may be responsible for the creation of the new villain."
Also, the film is expected to be more intricate than its predecessor, and action is going to be bigger, Jeremy Renner, who plays Hawkeye in the upcoming film, was quoted as saying by Screen Rant.
"I think everything that worked in the first one is exponentially going to be better in this one. I think the comedic relief, I think the action, is going to be bigger… There is more time spent with all of the Avengers together as a unit on and off the clock, if you will, which is actually really fun. A lot of secrets are revealed and more secrets are posed."
