The trailer of Mammootty's upcoming film "Varsham", which was released on 11 October has opened to positive reviews.
The launch function was held in a grand manner at Oberon Cinemax, Kochi in the presence of many celebrities. Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy released the trailer and audio of the film.
The trailer gives a brief insight into the genre of the film. The Mammootty starrer, directed by Ranjith Sankar is touted as a family entertainer.

The trailer introduces the character played by Mammootty, a family man who leads a normal life. The trailer then goes on to show some trouble sequences he faces and his struggles to survive the situation. The trailer also introduces TG Ravi, who plays the villainous character.
The trailer indicates that we can expect some excellent performances from the actors. Mammootty is spotted in different looks in the film, which reportedly indicate different stages of his life.
In the film, Mammootty will play as Venu and TG Ravi will be seen as Manavalan Peter. Asha Sharath plays as Venu's wife Nandini and Mamta Mohandas plays the role of Dr Jayashree. Govind Padmasurya, Sunil Sugatha, Santhosh Kezhatoor, Sudheer Karamana, Harish Perady, Jayaraj Warrier, Irshad and Sajitha Madathil also appear in pivotal roles.
The CM also unveiled the film's first canvas poster, which was introduced as an initiative to avoid the plastic flex posters.
Mammootty added that he will not use any plastic flexes and banners for his films to protect the environment. Producer Milan Jaleel, who was a guest at the event added that it would be a great relief for the producers as a huge amount is spent on making plastic flexes and banners.
The audio-trailer launch also stood out as the event was telecasted to the public through live streaming. The trailer became popular within hours of its release and was watched by more than 55,000 viewers within 24 hours.
The story, screenplay and dialogues of "Varsham" are also done by director Ranjith and is produced by Mammootty under the banner of Play House Release. The film will hit the theatres on 6 November.
