Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra, who were last seen together in Karan Johar's blockbuster "Student of the Year" will star in another ambitious project of Johar.
If reports are to be believed, then both Dhawan and Malhotra will be seen bromancing in the Indian adaptation of Hollywood comedy flick, "21 Jump Street", reported Bollywood Life.
For quite some time now, Johar has been interested in remaking the film, and since then speculations regarding the lead actors have been doing the rounds. However, putting an end to all speculations, the duo has been finalised in the remake.
The film will be directed by Punit Malhotra, who last directed "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein" (2013) starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
"21 Jump Street" is a 2012 action comedy starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. The film is based on a television series with the same title.
The story revolves around two students who miss their school prom. Seven years later, the duo meet at the police force and eventually become the best of friends. As police officers, the duo gets into solving a case where they had to pose as students in order to uncover a drug deal that is spreading in a school.
Meanwhile, Malhotra has started shooting for Johar's another project "Brothers", which is the remake of Hollywood film "Warrior". "Brothers" also stars Akshay Kumar and is set to hit the theatres on 2 October 2015.
On the other hand, Dhawan is busy shooting for dance film "ABCD 2" with Shraddha Kapoor. Dhawan will also be seen in an action thriller Sriram Raghavan's "Badlapur", the shooting of which is already completed. He has also bagged the Indian adaptation of Hollywood film, "The Fault in Our Stars" opposite Deepika Padukone.
