Young actor Sumanth Aswin, son of popular producer M.S. Raju, got his first commercial break with his recently released film, Lovers. “While Anthaku Mundu Aa Tharavatha gave me my first break in movies, it is Lovers that brought in good revenues right from day one,” says Sumanth. He added that he watched the film with the audience members on the second day. “When you watch the film with the audience you come face to face with original responses. I felt happy and observed that most of the audience enjoyed the comedy in the second half,” says the actor.

He reveals that the producers approached him long back for this film. “I liked the story and they narrated the story to my father too. He made a few important suggestions and those were worked into the story. Taking my father’s help while choosing a film was helpful as his experience is a big value-addition,” says the actor. He added that his father M.S. Raju and producer Dil Raju are perfect judges of films and that they can predict a film’s fate on hearing its story. 

The film has a college backdrop and he romances three girls in the film. When asked about his real life, he says that he is single and not in love with anybody. “I am concentrating on my career and I love cinema. Right now, these are the things in my mind and I want to build my career,” he says. While shooting for the film, director Maruthi observed that Sumanth did not get too many calls on his mobile nor did he use it often to make calls. “

He told me that I am not in love because he observed me while shooting and complimented me that I did all the romantic scenes perfectly,” Sumanth adds with a laugh. Complimenting his co-star Nandita he says that she played her part perfectly. “She is apt for the character and has done a fantastic job,” he says.

Now when he is approached for a film, he takes decisions independently and runs them by his father, “My father wants me to decide on my own so I listen to stories first, decide and only then ask for my father’s suggestions,” he says.

About his upcoming films, Sumanth Aswin says that he is presently shooting for Kerintha directed by Adivi Sai Kiran and produced by Dil Raju. He has signed another film with director Vema Reddy and the film will start soon.
