Amid reports that Tamil Nadu BJP is wooing Superstar Rajinikanth and likely to announce him as the party's CM candidate in the upcoming elections, BJP unit in Tamil Nadu clarified that "it's all media's speculation". However, BJP maintained that it would welcome if the actor is willing to join the party.

Tamil Nadu BJP president Ms Soundararajan, who was in New Delhi on Tuesday, said, "Rajinikanth was already in the good books of BJP. Rajinikanth announced Rs. one crore help when our great Vajpayeeji announced interlinking of rivers. He is a pan-India actor. We will cordially invite him and welcome him."

It may be recalled that PM Narendra Modi had met Rajinikanth during his visit to Tamil Nadu as part of the Lok Sabha election campaign. Reports are rife that Rajini would soon make his political foray.
