Akshay Kumar's "Entertainment" will release on Friday, but the film will face a strong competition from Salman Khan's "Kick." The buzz surrounding "Entertainment" is dull compared to other releases and it might get overshadowed by the strong performance of "Kick" at the box office.
Unlike Kumar's last release "Holiday – A Soldier Is Never Off Duty", "Entertainment" remained low on promotions. In fact, Kumar had cancelled some of the promotional events in Delhi.
Also, the trailer and songs of the film failed to receive positive reviews from movie goers and generate positive buzz on the social networking sites.
The story of the film, which is directed by Sajid-Farhad duo, looks quite similar to Kumar's "Housefull 2" except that in "Entertainment" a dog is playing an important role.
Hindustan Times in their report has given out four reasons to avoid Kumar's "Entertainment," which includes the storyline, songs and dialogues.
The story has zero entertainment value; songs of the film are inspired from nursery rhyme and it has received negative remarks from several movie goers. Also, the dialogues are not up to the mark, according to HT.
Another report in Koimoi.com said that the film is expected to be a winner as it features Kumar and the promo has been good.
But looking at the buzz, one can say that the film might fetch a slow start. Even the advance booking of the film has not received good responses.
The opening day occupancy is expected to be around 10 to 15 percent, considering the advance booking status. However, it is also expected to increase depending on the reviews and word of mouth.
Meanwhile, "Kick" dominated the market in India and overseas for two weeks and in the third week also it is expected to dominate over "Entertainment." Buzz around the Khan starrer is still very strong, which is helping it to fetch good numbers at the box office worldwide.
In fact, the occupancy of "Kick" on the third Friday is better than Kumar's "Entertainment" in several circuits. But since "Entertainment" is a new release, the occupancy might increase by the end of the day.
