Director Rohit Shetty who is riding high with the success of his latest action sequel, "Singham Returns", is apparently keen to make another blockbuster, this time with bollywood's most romantic on-screen couple, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
The buzz is that Shetty has already roped in Kajol for his next, opposite his favourite Shah Rukh Khan. If rumours are to be believed, Shah Rukh and Kajol will reunite to recreate their "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" magic and amaze fans who longed to see them together.
"Rohit will be directing SRK in his next film and he has now signed on Kajol as the lead actress for the film. This is a indeed coup though everything is at the planning stage right now. In fact, the film's pre-production work has already begun and an official announcement should be made soon," a source told Mid Day.
Rumours also had it that the "Singham Returns" director is in advanced talks with the lead actors and is on the final stage of drafting the script of the film. The makers of the film are expecting to roll the cameras by early next year. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.
"It will go on the floors in the first half of 2015," said a source close to the director. "Just last week, Rohit Shetty finalised Kajol as the leading lady of the film. It was easy for him to sign her on as he shares a great equation with her actor husband, Ajay Devgn. It may be pointed out that Rohit also played the mediator between Ajay and Shah Rukh."
SRK and Kajol created history with their 1995 release "DDLJ" and since then has been the most loved on-screen couple for the audience. The duo was seen last seen romancing each other in Karan Johar's 2010 release, "My Name is Khan".
Moreover, Shetty-SRK had created record-breaking success with their last year release, "Chennai Express" that crossed 100 crore in just four days of the film's release.
Wish such great track records, the film would definitely strike gold and rule the box office.
Meanwhile, Kajol will reportedly make a comeback in a woman-oriented film produced by her husband Ajay Devgn. The film will go on floors by October this year.
