Shooting of KS Ravikumar's Next with Kichcha Sudeep to Begin by March 2015

Hardly has the buzz surrounding "Lingaa" settled down and KS Ravikuamr is busy preparing for his next venture. The movie, which stars Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep, will kick off by March 2015.

As per reports, the makers had planned this movie over a year ago but postponed it because of "Lingaa". The team had to finalise the schedule of "Lingaa" unexpectedly. Ravikumar had apparently mentioned  the "Lingaa" story to Rajinikanth in a casual talk and that is when the superstar said he could be a part of the movie if the team schedules "Lingaa" in six months. This situation compelled the makers to postpone Sudeep's movie.

"The movie's script was finalized over a year ago. Since the opportunity to direct Rajinikanth sir came my way, I had to postpone the project with Sudeep. Being a great Rajini fan, he also agreed. This is why we'd thanked him and the producer of that project," said KS Ravikumar in a press conference, according to Silverscreen.in

The upcoming Ravikumar directorial is a thriller and is said to be a fast paced complete entertainer. The makers are yet to finalise the lead heroine and other major cast of the movie. There are reports that the music will be composed by a fresher.

Meanwhile, Sudeep has recently wrapped up the shooting of his Tamil period movie with Vijay, which is his 58th movie. Sudeep portrays the antagonist, a commander of a kingdom, in the movie. Vijay will be spotted in a gladiator look and the movie also has Hansika as a princess and Sridevi will be seen as a queen, playing Hansika's mother.

This upcoming movie directed by Chimbudevan  has been made with a huge budget of 90 Crore. Meanwhile, Ravikumar's next with Sudeep will be made simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

Kannada actor-turned-producer Ajay Rao tied the nuptial knot with his long-time girlfriend Swapna at a low-key wedding ceremony held at a temple in Hospet, Karnataka on Thursday, 18 December.

Ajay Rao was last seen in "Jai Bajarangbali", which was released on 12 December. During the promotion of the film, the actor had reportedly hinted at his impending wedding to Swapna without revealing the date and place. Within a week of the release, he has married.

The marriage was held at Huligemma temple in Hospet. It was a simple and private affair attended by family members and close friends. Director Shashank, who gave him a big break with "Krishnan Love story", was one among the celebs present at the marriage ceremony.

Talking to TV channels, Ajay Rao said, "We are newly-wed couple and we are not in mood to talk about our wedding. It is a love-cum-arranged marriage and we need the blessings of fans and media." When quizzed about his hush-hush marriage, he said, "We wanted a simple marriage. So we kept it as low-key affair."

Born and brought up in Hospet, Ajay Rao made his acting debut with director Prem's hit movie "Excuse Me" in 2003, but it was director R Chandru's 2008 movie "Taj Mahal" that gave him the first break in his acting career.

In a career spanning 12 years, Ajay Rao has starred in 17 movies. His last release "Jai Bajarangbali" has received lukewarm response from the film goers.

Ajay Rao has three big-ticket Kannada films such as "Krishna Leela", "Krishna S/O CM" and "Second Hand Lover" lined up for shooting. These movies are currently in production stage and are expected to release in 2015. He has also got few other offers but yet to finalise them.

Though Ajay Rao has many friends in the film industry, few were aware of his wedding. The actor is reportedly set to hold a grand reception for his colleagues in Bangalore. Reports suggest that he is yet to finalise the date and place of his wedding reception.

'Lingaa' Star Rajinikanth's Next Movie with Sudeep?

Rajinikanth's "Lingaa" was released on Friday, 12 December, to mixed reviews. Now, the actor is reportedly heading towards his next movie and rumours are rife that he is teaming up with Sudeep.

According to the rumours, Rajinikanth will soon be sharing screen space with Sudeep. The Kannada actor's latest tweet hints at the possibility.

On his Twitter page, Sudeep wrote that he got a call from Rajinikanth on the superstar's birthday (12 December) and it was a pleasant surprise. But it is the last part of his post that paved way for the rumours.

Sudeep has written that there are nice things in store and this line has made people assume that they are collaborating on a project. "Thr ws a surprise for me yday,My phone rang,,was an unknown num n i answrd,,It was th SuperStar hmslf on line..Well,,,nice things in store;)" his tweet read.

As we all know, Sudeep is acting in a forthcoming Tamil film starring Vijay. He will be playing the role of a baddie in the flick. After this movie, he is supposed to work in a KS Ravikumar movie.

Maybe KS Ravikumar is casting both Rajinikanth and Sudeep in the movie, according to the rumour mill. Nonetheless, till there is confirmation people can only speculate.

Meanwhile, Sudeep, after shooting a portion of Vijay's film, has returned to wrap up his forthcoming Kannada movie "Ranna", which will hit the screens in January. His film with Ilayathalapathy will keep him busy in the first quarter of the year 2015.

However, Rajinikanth's "Lingaa" has made record-breaking collections on the first day.

Aamir Khan's 'PK' Set to Clash with 'Shivam' at Bangalore Box Office

Aamir Khan's "PK" is all set to release in massive number of screens worldwide on 19 December. However, the movie is set to face quite a competition in the southern box office. 

While "PK" will mainly be affected by "Lingaa", in Bangalore, the Bollywood flick is likely to face the heat of Kannada movie "Shivam" starring Real Star Upendra. The Sandalwood flick will be the biggest release of this month and the clash will be at the cost of the division of screens.

Aamir Khan's movie could have easily reached 300 shows as per local traders, but the release of "Shivam" might reduce the opening day shows of the Hindi film to 180-200 in the cosmopolitan city.

"Shivam", which is a historical-fiction movie, is expected to be a big release in Karnataka and the film will easily be screened in 200 theatres in the state. In Bangalore alone, the Kannada film will have around 75-100 shows on the first day.

"PK" trouble does not end here as Rajinikanth's "Lingaa" is releasing a week before Aamir Khan's "PK". The Kollywood films, especially the superstar's flicks, has a good market in Bangalore and hence, there will be a big impact on the Bollywood film if Rajini's film gets good word-of-mouth.

Bollywood films too have a good market in Bangalore and traditionally Aamir Khan's movies have always done well in this centre. But "PK" might have to get fantastic reviews from audience to increase the screen count after its release on 19 December.

Aamir Khan's "Dhoom 3" and "3 Idiots" did earth-shattering business in Bangalore and his "Talaash" fared reasonably well. Traders hope that "PK" would write a new history in the Garden City, for which it should have about 250 shows on the first day.

Sathish Ninasam and Sindhu Lokanath's chemistry had worked well in Yogaraj Bhat's "Drama." Now, they have teamed up again for "Love in Mandya".

The film is a romantic entertainer set in Mandya. According to the makers, "Love in Mandya" is an out-and-out entertainer with the comedy elements ruling the major part of the film. But the last 15 minutes before the climax takes a different turn to surprise the audience.

The film has been shot in Mandya, Mysore, Bangalore, Tamil Nadu and other places. The main characters will speak in the Mandya dialect. The Kannada flick is directed by Arasu Anthare and produced by Uday K Mehta of Sudeep's "Bachchan" fame.

Anoop Selin has scored the music for the film and "Currentu Hodha Timealli" has become a popular track from the album. While Jnanamurthy has handled the cinematography, Akshay P Rao has edited the movie.

'Vijay 58' Antagonist Sudeep Dons Minor Role in Rajinikanth's 'Lingaa'

Kiccha Sudeep, who is busy shooting for "Vijay 58", has also donned a minor role in Rajinikanth's forthcoming movie, "Lingaa".

There have been a lot of rumours in the past regarding the actor's cameo in the film, but nobody had admitted about his guest appearance. Now, trusted sources have claimed that Sudeep will be appearing in a scene, lasting for a few minutes. 

Some industry experts are of the view that his guest appearance in "Lingaa" will help him to reach out to a larger audience. The KS Ravikumar directorial features Bollywood diva Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty as female leads.

The Kannada superstar is currently busy with the Ilayathalapathy's film, which is tentatively titled as "Vijay 58" by the actor's fans and the media.

Sudeep is playing the antagonist in "Vijay 58" and the character has been sketched by keeping him in mind. Though the movie will be his first Tamil movie, his role in the dubbed "Naan Ee" (the Tamil version of "Eega") has already earned him a good name in Kollywood.

The movie also features Shruti Haasan, Sridevi Kapoor and Hansika Motwani in the lead roles. It is a fantasy-adventure film directed by Chimbudevan.

The mega-budget project is bank rolled by PT Selvakumar and Shibu of Thameen Films.

The Kannada movie has made above ₹ 8 crores in its opening weekend in Bangalore. On the other end, 'Happy Ending', which was supposed to attract urban audience, performed below expectations in the Garden City. As per the trade reports, the Hindi movie has not even raked in half of what Darshan's film has earned in the opening weekend.

'Ambareesha', which features Priyamani and Rachita Ram in the female lead roles, had made above ₹ 3 crores on the release day. The Kannada film was released above 200 screens in Karnataka. The response remained almost same in the following days and helped the film collect ₹ 8 + crores in the first weekend.

Despite getting negative reviews, the Darshan's flick made good business. The success of the film in its first weekend undoubtedly goes to his huge fan following.

Whereas 'Happy Ending', which features Saif Ali Khan, Govinda and Ileana in the leads, could not get the start that it was expected to get. The Hindi film has reportedly made ₹ 14+ crores in the first weekend in India. The good promotions too seem to have failed to draw audience attention and this was reflected at collection centres in the first weekend.

But the good news for the makers is that the film has got a good word-of-mouth and this factor is expected to boost the collections of the film in the coming days. In case of 'Ambareesha', the Kannada film's collections are expected to come down due to the negative word-of-mouth.

As far as the occupancy is concerned, "Ambareesha" had above 80+ occupancy in major theatres in Bangalore in the first weekend. But for "Happy Ending", the Hindi movie opened to just 15 percent occupancy and managed to cross 20% in the next two days.
