Mammootty
This year in fact belonged to Mammootty. The legendary actor had the maximum release of seven films including "Balyakalasakhi", "Praise the Lord", "Gangster", "Manglish", "Munnariyippu", "Rajadhi Raja" and "Varsham". Though the initial releases failed to make a mark in the box office, the later ones became the biggest hits of the year including "Munnariyippu", "Rajadhi Raja" and "Varsham". The actor was also appreciated much for his versatile performances in films like "Balyakalasakhi", "Munnariyippu" and "Varsham".
Nivin Pauly
Nivin Pauly can be called the most successful actor of the year. The actor had total of four releases this year and all four managed to be big hits in the box office.
His character Rameshan from "1983", Giri from "Ohm Shanthi Oshana", Krishnan from "Bangalore Days" and Lokhesh from "Vikramadithyan" became highly noticeable and made him the favourite lead actor of the year. Nivin is also awaiting release of "Mili" by the end of December.
Dulquer Salmaan
Like his father, Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaam too had some of the best movies of his career this year. The young star had total of five releases included "Salalah Mobiles", "Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram", "Banagalore Days", "Vikramadithyan" and "Njan".
The first two films went unnoticed where as the other three movies marked Dulquer as one of the most reliable actors in the industry. The directors of these films managed to explore the adaptability and acting capability of Dulquer.
Fahadh Faasil
Yet another young star of the industry, who had some major releases. Fahadh had total of five releases this year which includes "1 By Two", "God's Own Country", "Bangalore Days", "Money Ratnam" and "Iyobinte Pusthakam".
Though not all the movies made a huge mark in the box office, this year went quite eventful for the actor, as the multi-starrer "Bangalore Days" and the periodic film "Iyobinte Pusthakam" became the biggest hits of the years. His role of Shivadas in "Bangalore Days" and Aloshy in "Iyobinte Pusthakam" became the two most noticeable characters of the year.
Prithviraj
The young superstar of the industry had total of five releases this year. Each film was much noticed for his commitment towards the characters that he portrayed and his versatility in choosing his role. The actors this year's films include, "London Bridge", "7th Day", "Munnariyippu". "Sapathamashree Thaskaraha" and "Tamaar Padaar"
Jayasurya
After Mammootty, Jayasurya is the another actor who has marked the maximum releases this week. The actor had releases of movies like "Happy Journery", "Apothecary", "Iyobinte Pusthakam", "Lal Bahadur Shasri", "Mathai Kuzhappakkaranalla", "Seconds" and "Aamayum Muyalum".
The actor was much appreciated for his performances as Suni Joseph in "Apothecary" and the negative character of Angoor Rawther in "Iyobinte Pusthakam".
Suresh Gopi
This year can be called as a comeback year for superstar Suresh Gopi. After a series of flops in the past few years, the actor finally got his choices right. Though the year began with a dull note with the release of Joshiy's "Salaam Kashmier", the actor gave out some scintillating performances in movies like "Apothecary" and "The Dolphins"
Mohanlal
Mohanlal had got mixed set of releases this year. He had a total of three releases including "Mr Fraud", "Koothara" and "Peruchazhi". Out of three, "Peruchazhi" had received better reception than the others. "Koothara" in fact was a much-awaited movie of the year in terms of Mohanlal's look, but flopped in the box office.
Dileep
Dileep another actor with the possibilities of being the biggest grosser had total of three releases this year. As per reports, his first film of the year, "Ring Master" as usual got audience attention and managed to make it big in the box office.
Kunchacko Boban
Kunchacko Boban made his presence felt in the industry with release of his six of his films, which include "Konthayum Poonulum", "Polytechnic", "Law Point", "How Old Are You", "Bhaiyya Bhaiyya" and "Cousins". The actor was also appreciated for his choice of characters and his performances.
