'Aamayum Muyalum' Movie Review: Yet Another Priyadarshan Movie Meant for One-Time Watch

Posted by: Unknown Posted date: 12:00 / comment : 0 , ,

"Aamayum Muyalum" directed by Priyadarshan turns out to be the remake of his Bollywood "Malamaal Weekly". The film is a comedy entertainer starring Jayasurya, Innocent, Nedumudi Venu and Pia Bajpai in the lead.

The story of the movie has all typical elements of Priyadarshan movie with many characters that are weaved with a lot of complications. In fact, the movie looked like Priyadarshan revisiting his previous movies in a lighter mood and is a relief from his last outing, "Geethanjali"

"Aamayum Muyalum" is set in a poverty-ridden village of Gowlipady and the plot revolves around an incident that happens in the village. The village is completely under control of a rich land lady, who is inconsiderate about the poor state of people in the village.

Kashi played by Nedumudi Venu is a lottery dealer of the village and is the only person in the village who knows to read and write. Innocent plays Nallavan, another important person in the village and Jayasurya plays Kallu, who is in love with Nallavan's daughter Thamara (Pia Bajpai). Mamukoya plays the role of Jayasurya's father in the movie.

The story of the movie begins when one of the villagers wins the lottery and how the life of the whole village changes soon after this. In their hunt to get the lottery money, each character of the movie ends up in more and more troubles. The villagers try all their luck to get what they desire and this forms the crux of the story.

"Aamyum Muyalum" has somehow managed to keep the interest of the audience from starting till the end, but lacks depth in the script. The story is peppered with some fun elements. However, do not expect a laughter-filled script that has a smooth flow.

Though, the makers mark Jayasurya as the lead, the film is completely taken away by Innocent and Nedumudi Venu with their screen presence. The veterans have carried the movie on their shoulders and impressed the audience with their comic timing and antics.

Sukanya's character as antagonist is a rip-off of Sukumari's character in "Thenmavin Kombathu", but the actress has done justice to the role. Anoop Menon, has done a delightful cameo appearance in the movie as Vijay Nambiar. Jayasurya has also done a decent job with part, which was given to him and the lead actress Pia Bajpai has nothing much to do in the character that was given to her.

The rest of the star cast that includes Mammukoya, Nandu, KPAC Lalitha, Kochu Preman, Harishree Ashokan, Edavela Babu and Ambika has also done their part well.

The most noticeable aspect of the movie is the cinematography by Divakar Mani and editing by Ayyapan Nair. Both have done commendable job, which make the narration of the movie a pleasing one. The background score and the music of the movie were also decent enough.

To conclude, "Aamayum Muyalum" is a one-time watchable flick if you go without much expectation.

'Cousins' Malayalam Movie Review: A Poor Attempt to Bring out an Entertainer

Posted by: Unknown Posted date: 11:57 / comment : 0 , ,

The first impression that you get from "Cousins", directed by Vyshakh, is the fact that it rarely manages to engage audience. The movie, which is touted as a comedy thriller ends up being a highly predictable movie with the least comic experience.

The storty of "Cousins" revolves around four cousins, Sam (Kunchacko Boban), Joji (Indrajith Sukumaran), Pauly (Suraj Venjaramoodu) and Tony (Joju George). Sam suffers memory loss of six years of his college life after a brutal accident. The film begins when the cousins take a journey to Sam's past to revive his memory after doctor's recommendation and they end up in Chandragiri Palace.

Four cousins are welcomed by some dark truths about Sam's past and learn that there are some serious reasons behind Sam's accident. They also realise that Sam had a girlfriend Arathi (Vedhika), who was apparently the heir of the palace. With the help of Arathi's cousin, Mallika (Nisha Agrawal), the cousins set out to find the truth about Sam and his past.

The first half of the movie has nothing to offer in terms of entertainment or plot. The main story of the movie in fact begins only by the second half. Just when you think the movie is gaining momentum, the director in a way chose to spoil the flow of the movie by imbibing some unwanted characters and forced comedy dialogues, which of course failed to create any laughter in the theatre.

In terms of performance, Indrajith stands out among the lead actors with his impeccable acting skills and Kunchacko Boban has given out a decent performance. The characters of Suraj and Joju looked out of place. Inclusion of the Kalabhavan Shajon to add comic element failed miserably and felt irritating at times. The other characters including the female leads did not have much to do in terms of performance.

Song sequences of the movie also did not contribute much to the storyline and were placed poorly. The background score by Gopi Sundar sounded out of place.

The good aspect of the movie would be the cinematography, which managed to visualise the movie in the best way possible. The art direction of the movie was commendable and added to the rich look of the movie.

To conclude, "Cousins" failed to meet the expectations with poor scripting and a highly predictable storyline.

'The Dolphins' Review Round-up: Suresh Gopi Starrer Receives Positive Response from Critics

Posted by: Unknown Posted date: 19:37 / comment : 0 , ,

Malayalam film "The Dolphins", directed by Diphan, has opened in theatres with positive reviews. The film, starring Suresh Gopi, Anoop Menon, Kalpana and Meghana Raj in pivotal roles, has been widely reviewed as a film with a cleverly plotted story-line and a brilliant climax.

The story of the movie revolves around Panayamuttam Sura (Suresh Gopi), who rose to riches from rags and runs a chain of bars in Thiruvananthapuram, under the name "Dolphin Bar." He leads a comfortable life with his wife Kochuvava (Kalpana) and their children.

Though wealthy, he always feels left out in the high class community as he does not possess any highly sophisticated personality. Though he limits his social life to his close friends, they help him try to get out of this reclusiveness. However, things take a turn as an unknown woman enters his life.

Most of the critics are impressed by the way in which the film is packed with witty one-liners and dialogues, which in a way has managed to keep the audience engaged from the start till the end.

The reviewers also said the performance of the actors, especially by Suresh Gopi and Kalpana, deserved a special mention. The technical aspects and the songs are also counted among the positive factors in the film's package.

Read "The Dophins" reviews by various critics below:

"'The Dolphins' is not exactly a director's movie, though Diphan has done a decent job," according to Metromatinee.com. "Anoop Menon has stuck to his familiar style in scripting but he did pull off a coup of sorts in the end with a memorable parting blow. Jithu Damodar's frames are beautiful and the settings are fabulous."

"M.Jayachandran's songs including the remix are soothing. Gopi Sundar's BGM is keeping in with the pace of the movie. 'The Dolphins' may be a movie that is formulaic for most parts but with a surprising and enlivening end it may leave a good feeling in the mind," added the report.

Meanwhile, Film Beat is of the view that "Suresh Gopi shines as Panayamuttam Sura, with his extra-ordinary acting skills; especially in the climax scenes. But the Trivandrum slang used by the actor sounds artificial at some points.

"Kalpana, who played Sura's wife Kochuvava, is the star of the movie. The actress makes the audience awestruck with her exuberance in comic scenes and under acting in emotional scenes.

"Anoop Menon's character Nandan is an extension of his earlier characters. The actor is fine in his repetitive role; but definitely need to improve his acting skills and should develop his own acting style. Meghna Raj looks completely convincing in her role. Another actor who deserves a special applause is Nishanth Sagar, who mesmerizes audience with his impeccable comic timing. Rest of the cast also did complete justice to their roles," the website added.

Another website, Indiaglitz, wrote: "The movie has a serving of no-holds-barred adult humour .A special note must be made of these witty one-liners/dialogue, which is a replica of exactly how many youth converse these days. The screenplay which mishmashes different happenings with the life of Sura, are cleverly plotted, which keeps you engaged till the end.

"Add to that the appealing twist in tale in the climax which give it a life as a feel good entertainer, 'Dolphin bar' must feel safe in a already crowded market. "Dolphins' is a film which leaves you with a happy feeling. It is worth a watch, at least for naughty jokes, outrageous lines and good execution."

'Ormayundo Ee Mugham' Review: A Breezy Romantic Movie Starring Vineeth Sreenivasan, Namitha Pramod

Posted by: Unknown Posted date: 11:12 / comment : 0 , ,

Director Anvar Sadik has made an impressive debut with his urban romantic musical movie "Ormayundo Ee Mugham". The a breezy entertainer has Vineeth Sreenivasan, Namitha Pramod, Aju Varghese and Sou in the lead. Though the story is a familiar tale of romance and emotions, its technical excellence stands out.

The story of "Ormayundo Ee Mugham" revolves around Gautham (Vineeth) who lives with his family, including his mother (Rohini), grandmother (Lakshmi) and his sister. His mother took over the family business after the death of his father. However, Gautham is not interested to run their business.

His destiny takes control of his life when he meets Nithya (Namitha) who is a sand artist. He falls in love with her without knowing her past. Nithya who lives with her sister Nitu (Sou) is suffering from memory loss after a major accident. The rest of the film talks about how Gautham manages to find a place in her heart and the consequent changes Nithya brings to his life and attitude.

"Ormayundo Ee Mugham" does not have a highly thoughtful storyline, but the director has managed to present the story in a pleasing manner. The film is in fact a visual treat, which keeps you engaged with its beautiful frames. The film does not have high emotional or dramatic sequences, instead it is a feel good movie with some good performances.

The other most noticeable aspect of the movie is Shaan Rahman's music. The background score and the songs are well composed, which suits the storyline of this urban love story. The director has placed each song at the right situation and will immerse the audience with its soothness.

Coming to the script of the movie, Anvar hasn't tried too much of gimmicks with the dialogues. One thing that can be noticed is that the director has made an effort to avoid any cheesy romantic dialogues, which could have easily spoiled the momentum of the narration. The basic storyline of the movie is feeble and do not offer much for the director to explore its possibilities as an entertainer.

Each character has contributed well to the storyline of the film. Vineeth has proved again that he is a multi talented personality with his performance. Namitha has given out yet another impressive performance. One thing that is missing strongly for them would be the chemistry between them.

Veteran actress Lakshmi has given out an effortless performance as a friendly grandmother, who is always in her own world of love stories. Rohini has brought out a fresh personality to the character of Gautham's inquisitive yet a caring mother with her performance and body language.

Aju has done his part well as Appurva, a close friend of Gautham. His presence was indeed an addition to the storyline with elements of comedy, which was otherwise missing in the storyline. Sou has also done justice to her role as Nithya's sister. Other actors like Mukesh, Muktha and Edavala Babu have also done their part well.

A special mention has to be given to the art director Suresh Kollam, costume designer Sameera Saneesh and makeup artist Ronex Xavier for making each frames of the movie more romantic and beautiful.

The most noticeable aspect of the movie is its camerawork and the colour tone. The cinematography by Jithu Damodar lifts the standard of the visual experience and the lighting gives a romantic mood. The editing, which is done by Johnkutty is also impressive.

To conclude, "Ormyundo Ee Mugham" is an impressive movie, which is worth a watch. You will not be disappointed if you go without much expectation.

Note: Do not expect yet another "Thattathin Marayathu".

'Little Superman 3D' Review: Critics Call Vinayan's Movie a Visual Experience | Little Superman 3D Malayalam Movie Review, Rating, Talk, Hit or Flop?

Posted by: Unknown Posted date: 16:58 / comment : 0 , ,

The latest Malayalam 3D movie "Little Superman-3D", directed by Vinayan has opened in theatres to positive reviews.

Reviewers have appreciated the director for his efforts to bring out a visual treat and an entertainer, meant for children and adults alike.

Though the story of the movie doesn't have much freshness to offer, the film reportedly will surprise you with its graphic works.

The story of the movie revolves around 11 year old Villi Wilson (Deny), who is Wilson George (Ranjith) and Jeny Wilson's (Praveena) son. Ansiba Hassan plays the role of his sister.

Wilson is a loving father and a dedicated irrigation department officer. His sincerity towards the work has also gained him enough enemies who eventually hunt him and his family down. Villi and his pet dog escape and his uncle Alby will take care of them. With the help of his uncle, Villi gets some magical powers and become the little superman.

The rest of the film focuses on how Villi tracks down those who killed his family and takes revenge on them.

The film's graphics are reviewed as stunning and first of its kind in Malayalam cinema. The other technical aspects of the movie have also managed to impress the critics.

Here are some of the reviews of "Little Superman 3D" by various critics.

"Vinayan; as a director and a writer proves that his time is not over yet. He worked a lot for the movie with no veteran actors, still maintaining a good potential throughout. The screenplay and dialogues by S Ratheesh were good as the movie will entertain both children and eider ones. The 3D movie owns a graphics of international standards by using 3D Digital Videography; commonly used in Hollywood, not seen before in Malayalam. A couple of people worked for Avatar and Harry Porter series, do the graphics in international level; which gets a better effect; watching in 3D; making the audience feel stunning, most of the time" – Muyals.com

"Child artist Deni is played the role of Villi Wilson and he was the show stealer from the first to last. Another important character in this film is played by None other than Ansiba who is one of the most popular actress in kerala now after the epic film Drishyam. Her performance in Drishyam as Mohanlal's Daughter gave her a lot of fan following and handful of films both in Malayalam and Tamil . She had done character part very well in Little Superman too. Other artists of the movie includes Kakka Ravi, Baby Nayanthara, Madhu, Praveena and others and all were done justice to their roles. V.N Babu and Vinayan financed the movie under the banner of Akash films banner. S. Ratheesh penned down the dialogues for the movie .The music department is handled by Mohan Sithara and lyrics were written by Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri. The technical team was amazingly done their part and editor sunil deserves special mention for his crisp editing. On the Whole this Vinayan film is an engaging fun ride for all and you will not be disappointed after watching it. After all we all have a child inside us" – Onlookersmedia

"Though logic may seem a casuality, in a fantastical story it can be overlooked. There is not much of a story to tell here, it is all about revenge and some light is also thrown on some of the rotten tendencies prevailing in our society. It is as a visual treat that 'Little Superman' thrives. The 3D effects are well handled and after movies like 'Anaconda', 'Tiger', 'Dinosaur' etc. this movie is an example of how 3D effects can be smartly used. Graphics are handled with finesse and in only very few scenes that things look slightly overboard. Technically the movie is top notch and narration is very much Vinayan like. Songs are decent and actors including the child artists have put in a competent show. 'Little Superman 3D', is a colourful spectacle for the family and children" - Metromatinee

'Iyobinte Pusthakam' Review: Visual Treat from Fahadh Faasil and Amal Neerad Team | Iyobinte Pusthakam Rating, Talk, Hit or Flop?

Posted by: Unknown Posted date: 12:08 / comment : 0 , ,

"Iyobinte Pusthakam" starring Fahadh Faasil and Lal in the lead is a typical Amal Neerad movie with excellent formal qualities. The film set in Munnar tells the story of love, romance, betrayal, hatred, revenge, feudal fights and bloodshed in the backdrop of Second World War.

The story revolves around Iyob and his three sons, Dimitri (Chemban Vinod), Ivan (Jinu Joseph) and Aloshy (Fahadh Faasil).

The movie begins with a narration of Iyob's life since British started conquering the hills of Munnar. Iyob, who one of the slaves of British lord Mr. Harrison (Sal Yusuf), soon becomes the most trusted servant.

Harrisson, who is separated from his wife gets enticed with Kazhali (Lena), a tribal woman from Nilgiris who was apparently ousted from her tribe for performing Black magic. Soon Kazhali gains the status of the mistress.

As the First World War breaks out, the lord faces trouble in his tea export business. He leaves pregnant Kazhali to recover the money that is stuck in England, but fate has other plans. Harry on his way back from England to Kochi suffers a heart attack and passes away. Iyob takes this as a chance and throws out pregnant Kazhali from their home and property, which leaves Kazhali to raise her only daughter Martha (Isha Sharwani) alone.

Iyob soon raises himself as the landlord and soon the lord of Munnar. In the growing years of Iyob's children, Aloshy is identified as different from his ruthless brothers. The young Aloshy soon flees home and reaches Kochi and as he grows up join Indian British Army for many of their wars.

After staying away from home for years, he finds out that things at home haven't really changed much and have in fact turned worse. He goes back home to take his love Martha to Kochi, but faces objections from his family. What follows is the story of sibling rivalry, which turns out to be the most unfortunate incident in each character's life.

The most noticeable aspect of the movie is the detailing of each character. Like other Amal Neerad movies, "Iyobinte Pusthakam" too offers a visual treat. Each frame, movements and angles used in the movie is a delight to watch. The warm color tones and textures add grandeur to the visuals.

Another noticeable aspect of the movie is the background score and the music of the film by Neha S Nair and Yakzan Gary Pereira. There were even sequences where the background score lifted the mood of the movie and theme songs for each character were also pleasing enough.

A special mention has to be given to costume designer Sameera Saneesh and makeup artist Manoj Angamally for giving life to each character and to Art Director Sabu Mohan for bringing back an era of beauty, grandeur and struggle.

Coming to the casting of the movie, Fahadh Faasil steals the limelight with his charming looks and body language in the role of Aloshy. Though he doesn't have many dialogues in the movie unlike the usual lead role, Fahadh gives out a stellar performance of a man with high quotient romance and revolutionary thoughts.

Jaysurya also gives a stunning performance in the role of shrewd villainous character of a Tamil businessman Angoor Rawther. The actor, in fact gives a new dimension to the iniquitous role with his excellent dialogue delivery and style and this role can be referred to as his career best.

Lal's performance as Iyob also confirms that his director's choice was not left in vain. Chemban Vinod and Jinu Joseph have opened new a phase of their career with their negative role. Vinayakan again assures that he is here to stay for more performance based role. Other actors like Isha Sharwani, Padmapriya, Reenu Mathews, Srrejith Ravi, TG Ravi, Shebin Benson, Saritha Kuku have also done their parts well. The guest appearance of Aashiq Abu and Amala Paul is also a delight to watch.

From the directorial point of view, "Iyobinte Pusthakam" has all the elements of an entertainer in bits and pieces, but what is missing is the connecting factors of these elements. You might have a better cinematic experience if the movie is dissected scene by scene as the film lacks an overall feel.

Another negative aspect of the movie was the heavy lag that is felt throughout the movie. It looked like the characters were taking their own time to get in synch with the situations around them, which affected the pace of scenes.

Though "Iyobinte Pusthakam" offers a film with all the entertaining aspects, it fails to leave a mark on the audience in terms of the storyline and script. However, Amal Neerad's new movie is an excellent example of a movie with technical excellence.

Mammootty's 'Varsham' Movie Review: A Movie of Stellar Performances and High Directorial Value

Posted by: Unknown Posted date: 21:06 / comment : 0 , ,

The much-awaited Mammotty film, "Varsham", offers what has been promised by the director. It is a change from the usual movies that has been offered recently to Malayalam cinephiles.

The film is definitely a family drama, but not an entertainer that puts you through a lot of twists or turns. It neither has soap opera moments nor vivid dance and music. Instead, the director takes you through heart-warming moments of emotions.

The story of "Varsham" revolves around Venu, who runs a private money-lending company, "Anand Finance", which is named after his only son. He leads a satisfied life of a typical upper class family man with all possible luxuries. Venu is a scrupulous person when it comes to money and has all complexes of an ambitious father figure. Like other Ranjith Sankar movie protagonists, Venu too is individualist in terms of his judgments and attitudes.

Venu in a way is blind to others around him other than his family. His only son is the apple of his eye and has huge expectations over him. The egoistic father in him expects only the best from his son.

But one incident changes his attitude towards life. The film then portrays Venu's struggle to come in terms with things around him and how he copes to move ahead in his life amidst his complex thoughts and composite society he lives in.

The director must be applauded for exploring the possibilities of human life and psyche. After a point of time, the film raises itself as a reflection of the society by an average Malayalee and his concerns of leading a life. The makers have made a conscious effort to convey the desired message and concept through some light-hearted dialogues and satirical situations.

As Ranjith said before, the USP of the movie is definitely the performance by the actors and the casting of the movie requires a special mention. Mammootty has carried the whole film on his shoulders with his impeccable perfection in acting. He makes sure that the character of Venu is given the right dose of emotions and histrionics to make him look convincible.

In terms of screen space, Asha Sarath has given tough competition to Mammootty. The actress again had made her character memorable and excels as an envious wife and mother. Parjwal, who plays the role of Anand, the couple's only son justifies his directors' choice.

TG Ravi reminds of the quote on vintage wines which turns stronger day by day. The veteran actor proves that there is more in him that is yet to be explored and tasted.

Harish Perady's screen presence in the role of Venu's elder brother is highly remarkable. Mamtha Mohandas too has justified her character.

Santhosh Kezhattoor and Irshad have made sure that they have a safe future in doing character roles. Sajitha Madathil, Sarayu, Sunil Sughatha, Sudheer Karaman and Govind Padmasoorya justify their roles with excellence.

The script of the film doesn't have great highs or lows, but is beautifully peppered with emotions that carry the feel of the movie till the end.

As the title "Varsham" suggests, the script has a feel of rain that can cleanse one's soul but the nature of the script is more like a poetical melancholy drizzle than a ravishing heavy thunderous rain.

The cinematography and editing of the film make sure that the momentum and the mood of the film is not lost. They have helped to add the involvement of viewers in to the movie. The costumes and make-up adds to the originality of the characters and blurs line between reality and fiction.

The sound department of the movie has also done a commendable job. The music composed by Bijibal adds charm to the mood of the movie and lyrics of the songs compliments the storyline of the movie.

Over all, "Varsham" is a movie worth investing your time and money. The makers have made an honest approach to make the film a pleasing one to watch, and the director, the cast and the crew deserves appreciation for bringing out something worth watching.

RedGoli Rating: 4/5

'Asha Black' Malayalam Movie Review Roundup: Crime Thriller Gets Average Reviews from Critics | Asha Black Reviews Ratings by Various Websites

Posted by: Unknown Posted date: 17:56 / comment : 0 , ,

The Malayalam film "Asha Black" has opened to average reviews.

The emotional thriller, directed by John Robinson deals with the concept of cyber crimes and various issues faced by the young generation, who have uncontrolled access to the Internet. The film talks about how teenagers' online social relationship influences their life.

The story is set in Malaysia and deals with a series of murders connected to an online user named Asha Black. Parallel to this, the film talks about the life of Rohit (Arjun Lal), a talented teenager. He befriends with an anonymous Facebook user, who eventually becomes his dream girl.

Rohit soon travels to Malaysia to find her and what follows is a series of emotional turn of events, which forms the crux of the story.

Critics have appreciated the film for its storyline but points out that the script has failed to support the interesting plot.

The actors' performances also get average ratings from most of the reviewers. The technical aspects of the film, which includes the music, cinematography and art direction have managed to impress the critics.

"Asha Black" has "Thanmathra" fame Arjun Lal, new comer Ishitha, Sharath Kumar, Manoj K Jayan and Devan in pivotal roles.

Here are the reviews of "Asha Black" by various critics:

The highlight of the movie is definitely the base story itself, but the script spoils much of the freshness of the plot. 'Asha Black' opens in a slower note and only finds its needed pace in the later half. The lengthy online chats and slower frames does turn you off from the needs of a thriller. And when the two strings of the plot are blended together it feels convincing. But the overall the treatment asks for more meticulousness and even when cops are out to hunt, we don't get the needed thrills to engage. These lack of edge of seat thrill elements are the things that may spoil the commercial party of the movi. - Indiaglitz

The film has a very strong messaging about how parents should dedicate time to their children and also keep a tight watch on their social life on the web. Serious topics like child sexual abuse has been sensitively handled. Jecin George's music is good but the background score is jarring at points, killing the mood of the chase. John Robinson's direction is good but could have been better in bringing out the message of the story. - Desimartini

On screen Arjun Lal makes a less appealing comeback. The actor who promised a lot through Thanmathra couldn't do anything out of the box to make the sloppy script look better. Sarathkumar just walks around and talks in Tamil and Malayalam (in his own voice). A really really unreal character was given to Manoj K Jayan. I must admit that I loved looking at the cute face of the heroine. Ishita was adorable and unlike many she didn't disappointed me with her acting.Direction is sloppy at the key points as John Robinson fails to control the melodrama. The chatting part partially looked good in terms of practicality. Script isn't that impressive. Dialogues are too cheesy. Cinematography was a big plus. Edits weren't great. BGMs were okay. Song placing wasn't that good and the overall music was average. - Lensmenreview

'100 Degree Celsius' Review Roundup: Thriller Opens to Mixed Talk | 100 Degree Celsius Movie Reviews, Ratings by Various Websites

Posted by: Unknown Posted date: 17:47 / comment : 0 , ,

The Malayalam film "100 Degree Celsius", written and directed by Rakesh has opened in theatres to positive responses.

The thriller film starring Shwetha Menon, Bhama, Meghana Raj, Ananya and Haritha Parokod has managed to capture the interest of the audience. However, the film has evoked mixed reviews from critics.

The story of the film is reportedly inspired by a real life incident. It revolves around five women - Nila as a techie (Shwetha Menon), Nancy as a bank employee (Bhama), Revathy as a news channel reporter (Meghana Raj), Ganga as a student (Ananya) and homemaker Lovely (Haritha) who live together in an apartment.

Their life takes a turn upside down when a death happens in their apartment. What follows are the mysteries surrounding the death and the consequences of this ill fated day in their life.

The cinematography of the film is done by Sathyanarayanan Suriyan and the music is composed by Gopi Sundar. The film is produced by Royson Vellara under the banner of RR Entertainments.

Here are the reviews of "100 Degree Celsius" by various critics:

The Times of India

"If what you want is to sit back and relax with a packet of popcorn, 100 Degree Celsius is not the film for you, as you would mostly be on your seat's edge, scene after scene. Rakesh Gopan joins the pack the debutant directors in Malayalam, who tell unprecedented stories in our tinsel town. His effort is laudable, and besides a handful of glitches in execution that sets occasional boredom, the film is involving enough to keep one interested till the end.

All the lead actresses bring alive the pain and vexation of people trapped in conflicting priorities and the first half is hair-raising and nerve-racking enough for a thriller. There is no moment of laughter or fun, but your eyes will stay glued to the screen to see what's next. Though the sudden and unexplainable death of a character stumps you and the reason stays unrevealed throughout the film, the average audience wouldn't mind blinking it away."

"With an absurd script, this film struggles to keep you engaged right from the start. The story just goes here and there without any logic. All you are surprised about is the serious way all those inane scenes have been presented here.Talk about the performances and there is a competition happening among all the actors to come up with the worst performance. The four women, who play the lead, look totally disinterested. Haritha and Sethu, of 'Mynaa' and 'Thank You' fame, flounders big time."

Metro Matinee

"Rakesh Gopan has managed to create a thriller which has its moments. The movie is said to be based on some real life incident and the film adheres to a rather believable narrative for most parts. Though there are some loose ends here and there, largely it is held together by a compact script. The relationship between the lead ladies is not fairly well etched out and the real intentions of the antagonist are rather obscure. And the ending which opens the door to a second part may not be convincing to every viewer."

"The actors have done a creditable job, especially Ananya and Meghna who are the pivots. Shwetha Menon and Bhama are rather subdued while Haritha does look sensuous. The male actors including Ganesh Kumar as a Police Officer, Sreejith Ravi as a goon, Anil Murali, Mithun Ramesh, Sivaji Guruvayoor etc. are decent. Sethu as the antagonist oozes villainy in his eyes and gestures. Sathyanarayana has added value to the film with his slick frames while Gopi Sundar's BGM, though a bit loud at times, does provide the gripping edge to movie."
