'Shamitabh': Amitabh Bachchan Releases Audio and First Look Posters of Big B-Dhanush Starrer [PHOTOS+AUDIO]

The first look posters of upcoming Bollywood film "Shamitabh", starring Amitabh Bachchan and South Indian hero Dhanush have been released. The posters, released by Big B on his Facebook page, feature the lead actors in a never-seen-before avatars.

Bachchan and Dhanush are seen wearing opera-style jackets and their names are written along with the film's title on an old-fashioned cinema hoarding, that reads "Dhanu-SHAMITABH-Bachchan".


Meanwhile, Big B has also released an audio poster, where a reporter asks Shamitabh when his next "picture will release", to which the drunken Shamitabh says, "When the audio and video get mixed, how you can call it a picture? It's not a picture, its a mixture."

Soon the reporter asks, "When is your next mixture releasing?" and the clip flashes "Shamitabh will release on February 6, 2015."

Meanwhile, "Shamitabh", directed by R Balki and slated to hit theatres on 6 January, marks the debut of Kamal Haasan's youngest daughter Akshara Haasan.

Wazir starring Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akhtar is an upcoming Hindi drama and the trailer of the film is out. The first look of the trailer proves to be amazing. With Amitabh and Farhan sharing screen space is there any other word than 'grandeur' to define? That's how much impressive is this film. Aditi Rao Hydari has a pivotal role to play in the film. Amitabh Bachchan amazes with his performance in the film.

Amitabh plays a role of paralysed chess player and Farhan Akhtar essays the role of an ATS officer. Music is composed by AR Rehman, the film has been shot in and around Delhi. Produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani and directed by Bejoy Nambiar the film's trailer wins over everyone with intense Farhan and intriguing Amitabh. The teaser is gripping and intense. We are sure this film will be a super hit. Wazir which was earlier titled as Do will be out in theaters in 2015.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has crossed 18-million followers on Facebook.

The 72-year-old actor has 18,018,190 followers on his Facebook fan page.

“18 million!! Followers crossed! Thank you so much my FbxTF... My Facebook extended family,” Bachchan posted on Facebook. 

 Bachchan has 11.8 million followers on twitter. He has been quite active on social media and he keeps updating his personal blog with his daily life experiences.

“18 million!! Crossed on Facebook... Thank you all that connect with me!! Persevering to do more,” he wrote on twitter.

The ‘Paa’ star has recently wrapped up shoot of his upcoming movie ‘Piku’.

“When your work is ‘wrapped up’ before the other cast of a film project, you know that your time of importance is over.”

Rajinikanth received the Centenary Award for Indian Film Personality of the Year yesterday in Goa at the 45th International Film Festival Of India. Rajinikanth who referred Big B as his elder brother did not hesitate to take blessings from India's biggest star Amitabh Bachchan. Rajinikanth who also was apparently overwhelmed while receiving the award couldn't hold back his tears.

Rajinikanth said, "I came here to receive an award and not to make a speech that too after such an excellent speech by Amit Ji. I have no words to speak now. About 5 to 6 times, I couldn't make it to the IFFI before. This time I am fortunate and honored to receive such a prestigious award. I thank the Government of India and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. I dedicate this award to all my producers, directors, technicians and fans. Thank you very much".

Rajinikanth's simplicity and humility is known to all and it was a heart touching gesture from Superstar when he displayed his affection towards his senior actor Amitabh Bachchan. It is to be noted that Rajinikanth has openly showcased his respect towards Amitabh Bachchan in the past by asking the media not to compare him with Amitabh Bachchan and he also referred Mr Bachchan as an Emperor while he would take the position of a King when it comes to Indian Cinema.

The Lingaa star has also said that he doesn't want to talk about politics when he was asked about the possibilities of making politics as his career in the near future as there were news that Rajini might enter politics after his speech at the Lingaa audio launch.

What if the best talents of Indian cinema come together for a movie? Reports are coming in that the stalwarts of Indian cinema - Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Mohanlal, Vikram and Nagarjuna will all come together for MT Vasudevan Nair's dream project, "Randamoozham".

The film is a big budget project worth 250 Crore and likely to be out in two years. Though no confirmation has come yet about the film, the industry is abuzz with the news. "Randamoozham" is said to be an adaptation of Jnanpith Award winner and scriptwriter MT Vasudevan Nair's novel of the same name. The novel has been translated into English with the title "Second Turn".

The novel retells the story of "Pandavas" and "Kauravas" from the viewpoint of Bheema. The film will be directed by ace Malayalam director Hariharan. MT and Hariharan have earlier worked together on 10 movies including "Idavazhiyile Poocha Mindapoocha", "Valarthu Mriganagal" (1981), "Panchangini" (1986), "Nakhakshathangal" (1986), "Amrutham Gamaya" (1987), "Aranayakam" (1988), "Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha" (1989), "Parinayam" (1994), "Ennu Swantham Janakikutty" (1998), "Kerala Varma Pazhssi Raja" (2009) and "Ezhamathe Varavu" (2013).

Reports of a movie adaptation of the novel have been making the rounds since 2011. Director Hariharan has hinted that Mohanlal might be playing the role of Bheema as he believes that the actor is more than capable of reprising this central character.

Apparently, MT has been scripting this epic movie for the past two years and the makers are now busy confirming the roles for each character. There were many reports of actors like Kamal Haasan, Salman Khan and Mammootty being considered for the roles. But the latest buzz is that Amitabh Bachchan will essay the role of Bheeshma, Aishwarya will play Draupadi, Vikram will play Arjuna and the Telugu star Nagarjuna will play a pivotal role, which is yet to be decided.

This big budget movie will be made in major Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and English. If reports are to be believed, music maestro AR Rahman will compose the music and Sabu Cyril will do the art direction. Efforts are on to zero in on suitable locations for this epic piece.

Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's superhit film "Robot" has been in the news for quite some time now as rumours are rife that the makers are planning for its sequel.

Now, buzz is that "Robot" director Shankar has been planning to rope in Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan for his upcoming film.

The untitled film has been penned by Honey Irani who told Mumbai Mirror: "I will be meeting Shankar on Thursday. He had asked me to write this film around six months ago and said that he will meet me only after he had locked the actors."

However, when asked about "Robot 2", she dismissed the news and said that she is not involved with the science thriller.

"It will be unfair of me to reveal details of the plot. Let Shankar make an official announcement. All I can tell you at this point is that I'm not writing Robot 2." she added.

On the other hand, Roshan has expressed his desire to work with the South filmmaker. "I would love to work with Shankar, but I have no idea about this project." the "Bang Bang" star added.

Moreover, rumours also had it that the sequel will have the "Lingaa" star doing a cameo instead of playing the lead.

A few months back, there were reports of Aamir Khan been approached by Shankar to play the negative role in "Robot 2". Rumours had it that the actor is reportedly talking to the director about the project, but the deal has not been confirmed yet.

It now remains to be seen if Roshan and Big B have been approached for the sequel of the blockbuster movie or for some other project. If the stars give their nod to "Robot 2", it would be a visual treat for the audience to have such big stars sharing screen space for a big project.

"Robot" (2010) was one of the highest budget Indian movies and was released in three languages – Tamil, Telegu and Hindi. The science thriller was critically acclaimed and received positive responses from across the country and overseas.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan's upcoming film "Piku" has become the talk of the town, mostly because of its big star cast and the unique title.

Recently, Big B who has been shooting for the Shoojit Sircar directorial in Kolkata, had shared a picture of him with a huge tummy. The picture gives a clear hint that the megastar has completely transformed himself in the film.

And now, an adorable picture has surfaced online, where Big B, Deepika Padukone, Irrfan Khan and Sircar have posed for a selfie.

In the selfie, taken by the lead actress Padukone, which was later shared by Khan on his official Twitter handle, both the actress and the megastar are seen making some funny expressions while Khan and Sircar pose with a usual smiling face.

The plot of the film revolves around a crazy father-daughter relationship. Bachchan and the "Happy New Year" actress will be essaying the role of a Bengali father and daughter respectively. The film also has veteran actress Moushumi Chatterjee in a pivotal role.

Produced by MSM Motion Pictures in association with Saraswati Entertainment Creations Limited and Rising Sun Films, the film's shooting is currently going on in Kolkata city. Big B was also spotted merrily riding a bicycle in the city of joy. The first schedule of the film was successfully completed in Mumbai.

Directed by Sircar of "Vicky Donor" and "Madras Cafe" fame, "Piku" is slated to release worldwide on 30 April 2015.

Amitabh Bachchan: No campaign can change fate of bad film

Mumbai: In his over four decade-old film career, Amitabh Bachchan has seen days when promotions and marketing were almost nil, as well as those days, where movies get lost in the 'crowd' if not promoted well. But he says the fate of a movie only lies in its quality.

The actor is in Kolkata to shoot for Shoojit Sircar's 'Piku', and has been regularly sharing some snapshots from the schedule for his 'extended family' on social networking platforms -- whether the movie's makers like it or not.

"They wonder and send alarms to not publicise the pictures of the film PIKU...yet...for they jeopardise the marketing of the other projects I work on...which shall be released much ahead of this one," Big B posted on his blog srbachchan.tumblr.com. 

"But...I argue...no matter what strategy one may devise, if the film is not good, no amount of campaign genius by genius campaigners, shall change the fate of a bad film," he further wrote. His 'Shamitabh' releases Feb 6, 2015.

"There shall be marketing for that aggressively during December and January coming months," he said. The 72-year-old's other film 'Wazir' will release April 2015, and he says "that publicity can wait...or do they wish it were to come." It's tough to hide 'anything' these days, he feels.

"In today's times when a billion mobile cameras follow you wherever you go, it is well nigh impossible to keep anything away from the public. So, might as well let them 0exploit the situation, than to get into any ugly spat with either the media or the organisers," he added. Meanwhile, his fans are enjoying every bit of the glimpses he's sharing from "Piku", in which he will be seen with Irrfan Khan and Deepika Padukone.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is currently shooting for Shoojit Sircar's "Piku", has recently revealed his look from the film.

Known to get into the skin of each character he portrays, Big B has completely transformed himself in the film and is seen sporting a huge tummy. He is also wearing a fashionable hat and a pair of big framed specs.

Although, Shah Rukh Khan and other stars' eight pack abs have become a new trend in Bollywood, Sr Bachchan's family pack will surely make his fans love the actor's never-seen-before avatar.

Reportedly, the "Paa" actor has also put on weight to make his family pack look realistic to a certain extent.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan's upcoming film "Do" has been re-named and is now officially titled "Wazir".

Big B's co-star Farhan Akhtar took to Twitter to announce the change in the film's title. However, the reason for the title change is unknown.

Farhan Akhtar: The Vidhu Vinod Chopra/ Bejoy Nambiar film is now officially titled Wazir. 

Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, the plot of "Wazir" revolves around an ailing wheel-chair stricken chess master, played by Big B, while Farhan portrays the role of a tough Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) officer.

Sr Bachchan had recently shared a picture from the film on his Facebook page. In the photo, both the actors are seen sipping a cup of coffee amidst the beautiful location of Hauz Khas, New Delhi.

There were reports that the team will shoot major portions of the film in New Delhi, including India Gate and Jama Masjid.

Apparently, the "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" star has put on around eight kilos to get into the skin of the challenging role he portrays in the film. 

Produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, "Wazir" is an intense drama, which also stars Aditi Rao Hydari. 

Incidentally, Farhan will also be playing as a cop in Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Raees" and will next be seen in his sister Zoya Akhtar's "Dil Dhadakne Do", which is based on a dysfunctional Punjabi family.

The actor has been paired opposite Priyanka Chopra in "Dil Dhadakne Do" and is set to release worldwide on 5 June 2015.

"Action Jackson" director Prabhu Deva and lead actors Sonakshi Sinha and Ajay Devgn, were seen promoting their film on the sets of Amitabh Bachchan's "KBC 8".

The action pact film has already become the talk of the town and Ajay Devgn's performance has created hype in the trailer. The film, which is a remake of Telugu film "Dookudu", is set to release on 5 December.

The "Dabangg" actress Sonakshi Sinha is in the lead role. The film also features Yami Gautam and Manasvi Mamgai.

The director, along with the film's lead actors, visited "KBC" to promote their film. Sinha was sizzling in her black jumpsuit and new hair-do while both Prabhu Deva and Devgn chose to wear blue outfits.

Bachchan as usual was seen having a great time with his guests on the show. After Kapil Sharma's "Comedy Nights With Kapil", "KBC" has become the favourite platform to promote films.

Apparently, Big B's charm and the legendary success of the show have kept it alive to arrive every year. Earlier, the "Happy New Year" team visited the show to promote their blockbuster film.

It is said that "KBC 8" is coming to its end, even Bachchan posted "Action Jackson" team's photo, along with a note on Facebook, saying:

"KBC approaches its end almost and there is that feeling of a withdrawal .. there is music and dance and much else to recover .. so I shall discover, and learn and exhibit and perhaps at one time in the know of more than what I should averagely,"

Bollywood stars Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher and other celebrities saw the first copy of Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year" film on Sunday night.

The makers of the film had organised a special screening of the first copy of the film for the cast and crew and prominent Bollywood celebrities.

"Feeling what I guess every director feels when 1 st copy of film is ready..."wish I had another week more2 make it even better," director Farah Khan tweeted.

While, Shah Rukh missed the special screening, Big B, Anupam Kher, Ashutosh Gowariker's brother and photographer Avinash Gowariker and actor Mohan Kapur among others watched the big budget film.

"Happy New Year" is one of the most awaited films of the year. The film has created tremendous buzz online before the release and with celebs' review pouring in on Twitter, it seems that the multi-starrer will break all previous records.

"Although Farhan has directed Don (2006) and Don 2 (2011) — which saw actors play police officers — he has never essayed the role of a cop himself. And he is very excited to take the first step in a new direction. It will surely be challenging for him," a source close to Akhtar told Hindustan Times.

Incidentally, Akhtar will also be playing as a cop in Shah Rukh Khan starrer "Raees".

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan turned 72 this morning. His birthday happens to coincide with a festival called 'Karva Chauth', in which the womenfolk observe a fast for the long life of their husbands. Bachchan senior decided to wish everyone a happy 'Karva Chauth' on his birthday.

Big B took to micro-blogging site Twitter and posted: “T 1640 - And as we turn the night to morning wives turn on the morning light to fast and pray for their husbands .. its Karva Chauth now !!”

The actor, who is super active on various social media platforms, decided to send a personalised 'thank you' message to one of the lucky winners (who wished Amitabh Bachchan) on Twitter. He surely knows how to stay connected, what an idea sir ji! On your big day, a very happy birthday to you!

Today, on the auspicious occasion of ANR's birth anniversary, the Akkineni family has given a good news. As part of the Manam 100days and Oka Laila Kosam Audio release celebrations, the prestigious ANR National Award for the year 2014 has been announced.

Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has been chosen for this esteemed award and even Big B agreed to accept this rare honor, according to latest reports.

The ANR National Award is a prestigious award instituted by the Akkineni International Foundation in the honor of the legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. This is annually conferred to film personalities recognizing their exceptional contributions to cinema. Previously several eminent film personalities like Sridevi (2013), Syam Benegal (2012), Hema Malini (2011), Dr. K. Balachander (2010), Lata Mangeskar, Anjali Devi, Shabana Azmi and Dev Anand were awarded with the esteemed ANR Award.
